Alignment?

Guys,
I have had my car lowered for over 5 months, and i havent had it aligned yet, because I thought it was still fine. How far out of the stock parameters does a car go when lowered? I had noticed my car pulling a little to the left when i let go of the wheel, but steering wheels is dead center. Also my car tends to drift slightly in the lane, is that because i need alignment?? How much shoudl i be looking to spend at the Stealership for a Nissan alignment, do you guys recommend the dealer doing it? Will an alignment fix the drifting in the lane issue? how will this affect the handling of the car.
Thanks for the help
Vq

Before going to the dealership find a shop that does laser alingment. I had eibachs put on my car yesterday and as we speak it is at a shop here in Orlando having the laser alignment done. It may be overkill but the accurracey is spot on. I'd rather pay more now than have to replace tires any time soon.

By the way, have you noticed uneven or rapid tire wear?

I've getting an alignment tomorrow since my car pulls to one side (and the steering wheel is off about 5-10 (?) degrees). I believe that my tires have also been wearing rather quickly.

I dunno if they have a laser setup, but the service manager at my dealership recommended them to me (in particular over the stealership - he said he'd never have his car done there as their equipment is old/floor unlevel, etc). I think it's going to cost $35 for a front end alignment.

I live in a fairly small town (next closest Nissan dealership is hours away), and there aren't too many other options.

EDIT: How much better is a laser alignment over the standard alignment? Also, is there a rough estimate on price difference?

Thanks!

Find a place in your area with a Hunter balancing machine, thats the best machine to have an alignment done with.

um, you should have gotten an alignment within a week of lowering. Personally, if I was lowering or messing with suspension, I would check out the Firestone Lifetime Alignment. If I had money, I suppose I would try the laser option.

So the Hunter Balancing machine also does alignments?

Working 65+ hours a week, time flys by and you dont even notice. I was told 3 weeks after lowering, i should do it.

I knew I should have corrected that, I figured I could let it slide without someone pointing it out.

The person who installed your springs should have told you it was needed. Its kinda common knowledge, espcially if your installing for someone. Under $100 for a full alignment.

How are you guys doing the alignment? The Maxima only has toe adjustment. No camber or caster.

The alignment shop I went uses the laser technique and charged me 145.00 because the car was lowered.

This is the finished product after lowering with eibachs, 20 inch mods w/ black finish, stillen ftsb and progrees rsb.

This is my first Maxima and I am pleasantly surpised how well it handles with the suspension upgrades.

I just got the Cattman ASB and Lowering Springs installed. I did it the same time I had it in the shop for the rear sub-frame replacement recall. The dealership didn't charge to install the ASB and rear springs since they had to pull the old ones out anyway. They just charged for the front springs.

They suggested I get the alignment done after a couple of weeks, to let the springs settle. Will do the rear one for free (part of the recall package) and will give me a break off the front one. All in all, seems to have worked out ok.

i had my lowering springs and RSB from Cattman installed two months ago from a friends shop and got my wheel alignment from "Firestone". They have an special deal for a lifetime wheel alignment for $160-$170 as long as you have your vehicle and your information in their system. I don't know if they still have this deal but am just letting you guys know that this is really a good deal and save you guys a lot of money. I am located in Wayne, NJ and got my wheel alignment on willowbrook mall area.
