I received and installed my intake today when I got home from work. It took a little longer than I anticipated but well worth the grief. Once installed I went for a test drive and man that thing sounds mean. It has a nasty growl at about 4700 RPM and really catches you off guard. I can't wait to do some highway driving and open it up a little. Thanks again Tek for the reference and video. The sound and gains are what sold me on this one in particular.

you're welcome, I'm glad I can be of help...

I know how it feels to be skeptical about some product, I'm glad I can break the ice on this one.

this won't be the first time I go dyno something either, I want to know myself what these mods do also, to be sure they do as they claim..

Hrmm intake seems like the next logical mod. I think I will hold off on this one for awhile though until the factory warranty runs out. Has anyone noticed a reduction in fuel mileage with this or an increase? Just curious.

I know for a fact when I get mine on, I will notice a decrease in fuel economy.

You cant help but to burn more fuel...especially when you have your foot burried in it just to hear the fujita growl.

This intake is the best ever. It's loud as hell and its a mean growl. This is my first major mod and the begining to no end... I've owed and modded plenty of cars but for some reason i wasn't going to do anything to this car but now im getting tein coilovers, RSB, FSB, the controller for the coilovers to adjust the shocks. Y pipe catman catback. Please feel free to donate to the fund... I think im going to get a g35 ecu also soon.

Get some tint first, also a CAI will NOT void your factory warranty. Nice Ride, Good Luck...

The edfc is not compatable with the tein basics, damping is also NOT adjustable on those coilovers. Only the ride hieght is. Also as SR20DEN stated in another thread that the g35/350z runs off larger injectors so running a G35 ecu might not be the best idea. Later

Yup. The G35 ecu shifts slow in my car when I push. It does pull harder at lower RPM, but it tapers off at high RPM. Could be combination of smaller injectors and fatory DBW settings as stated.

Go to an Auto Zone, have them read the code for you and reset it (erase). This happens somtimes when installing a CAI. I would make sure your gas cap is on tight and ride it for a couple days, it should reset itself as the ECU learns. Quick fix is the Auto Zone route...

Before u go with a G35/350Z ECU, u may want to consider having urs reprogrammed by Technosquare. Keep checking the Technosquare thread for updates as two of us have our ECUs over their for reprgramming. RHMax should be getting his back this week, if not sooner, and I was told that mine is coming back next Wednesday. Ill post threads indicating by feedback on the results.

The tube itself has a spot where you screw in the old sensor. Yes, i was surprised they went that far. Hoopla#1, the sound is hoopla #2. Ive had cai before and they all roar when they kick in, but didnt scream like this one does at 6000rpm.

Ahhh, makes perfect sense. Thanks.

How does this compare with the AEM? That looks like 1 peice and is cheaper (I can't find any good info on it though).

Is the one piece design a problem?

I have a friend with a TL. He bought a CAI (don't recall the model) and he drove through a monster puddle. The thing sucked up water into the engine and he has had all kinds of problems since then. Since this is a one-piece intake with no other inlet, is this a concern? The things sounds incredible, but im not sure I want to take that risk.

Any thoughts are appreciated!

MJ

the filter is like 1 1/2ft from the ground, completly covered by the wheel well and bumper real nice, even underneith it... so rain won't touch it..

who drives their car in a huge @ss puddle? with this intake I would just take it easy driving over puddles, I wouldn't drive through a flooded road like on tv, but you know, common sence and you'll be allright..

well, if the car is submerged in the water atleast 2ft, you are f-ked, but just be carefull thats all...

cause this one piece intake has no holes or anything on it, so if its in water it will suck up the water for sure, but its completly covered all the way around while installed on the car that if you drive through a puddle it won't touch it..
