yea, the greddy is all chrome..

the cattman is not, only the mufflers are..

you can have all the pipes chrome if you go with headers and a catback like that..

Put a magnet to it and check.

Shinny = stainless???? The tips are polished. The exhaust system could be stainless and still not shinny.

Don't be fooled, stainless steel can rust just like other steel, it just does it at a much slower rate and typically needs to be induced! If you see localized areas of rust, like near clamps, welds or hangers, then there is a good chance it is stainless. Stainless begins to rust when free iron is brought into contact with stainless. By free iron I mean a carbon steel or mild steel like the clamps. The clamps have a very high iron content and the stainless has a very low iron content so what happens is the iron from the clamp “moves” to the stainless and the corrosion process begins.

Can you put a magnet on em and get back to us? In your picture they look stainless to me. Look close at the clamps. The clamps are totally rusty, but the pipes and cans are not. I see localized areas of rust on the pipes right near the clamps only. Makes me think sst!

I was told by a muffler shop that the factory exhaust is a mild stainless steel (cheap quality but stainless).

Well, I did just now do the magnet assay (both mufflers and inlet pipes), and if they are mild stainless, they are as mild as a baby's you know what. The magnet stuck firmly to both.

Looks good too! I got the Magnaflows on and the resonator removed and replaced with a 12" one. It's so deep in the car I cannot take it. It sounds excellent outside the car but the sound inside is too much for me. I will get another resonator next week. That factory one is huge and a little too quiet for my taste.
