Do you have a spoiler on your SL?

I am planning one getting for my SL and just wondered what others were doing or thoughts about spoilers

I don't have an SL, however IMO the Max looks better with one. I recommend the G35 or the WRX.

Ironically enough,

When I bought mine, that was one of my "non-negotioables". But on mine it is the little lip. I wasn't aware of all my options (choice of spoilers) when I bought the car, so I was thrilled with the little lip. I still am. I think I might have gone with the one on ChernMax's car. The only downside to me with those, (and Chernmax-Chime in here), is that I thought you had to disconnect the third break light in the rear window! I've seen them with the third brake light and if the spoiler isn't set up right, it looks goofy. Just my opinion!

Not yet, but I wouldn't mind putting one of the new 07 Max style spoilers on mine.

No, my third brake light and my spoiler are wired together so all brake lights go off at the exact same time. Nothing goofy about it...

I ran the wire under the trunks upper lining (where they hide the cars Amp) and brought it up through the third brake light housing. When you lift up the third brake, disconnect the wire harness and spice. Reconnect, test and whala...

Pretty easy and power and timing are exact.

Wings west 3rd gen wing filed and sanded a bit to fit buuuuut...

Voila...voilà

SYLLABICATION: voi·là
PRONUNCIATION: vwä-lä
INTERJECTION: Used to call attention to or express satisfaction with a thing shown or accomplished: Mix the ingredients, chill, and—voilà!—a light, tasty dessert.
ETYMOLOGY: French : voi, second person sing. imperative of voir, to see (from Old French; see voyeur) + là, there (from Old French la, lai, probably from Latin illc, by that way ( ill, ablative sing. feminine of ille, that; see al-1 in Appendix I + -ce, deictic particle).

None on my '04 SL. Of course there is one on my 5th gen SE.

My feeling is that SEs, being a very 'sporty' vehicle, almost demand a spoiler. Conversely, a spoiler on a luxury-leaning SL would seem somewhat less appropriate.

But since, other than for wheels and tires, the 6th gen SL and SE are outwardly virtually indistinguishable, I see absolutely no problem at all adding a spoiler to the SL. I see many SLs with spoilers, and they look fine.

Maybe for another post but I will probably upgrade the suspension over time. The wheels will most likely get an upgrade to the 18" soon after the spoiler goes on.

It's white, or whatever they call it.

Not interested in taking it off though, doesn't bother me enough and i don't want to risk damaging the paint underneath

I meant swapping trunk lids if the colors matched, not interested in repainting either.

OK, I sat on this response because at first I didn't feel it (I tend to analyze stuff). Result, I freakin love it, great job and outside the box for the 6th Gen.

I had to shave the angles of the feet that mount to the trunk. The curved part of the feet, that sits on the trunk ,was too steep for the 6th trunk lid. I used sandpaper to shape it nicely. Then line it up, drill holes, and screw in. The bass makes the wings flap tho. looks like a bird at full volume!!! no noise tho.

I have a spoiler on my SL. OEM lip spoiler, as well as the SE 18" wheels. Loving them both.
