How come your Calipers look like they are angled? Did you leave the bottom bolt unnatached?

The calipers are mounted higher than the stockers. Brakes are officially rebuilt. They will go on tomorrow if all goes well. Will keep you posted.

Got drivers side caliper on and test drove. Seems smoother. Interesting to drive with two different calipers on!!! It pulled slithly to the left indicating that the left one(300zx) works better than the right one (Stock caliper). Im waiting for it to cool down. Ill go take a daytime pic.

I go test the stock 17" to see if they fit over the wilwood BBK.

Wish me luck as I have to climb up into the rafter of my garage and hang by an arm and a leg to reach them. HAHAHA 200LBS just hanging over my car, can you smell disaster......

Deus, get the Slotted rotors; slot / facing the rotation, they grip like mad!!!

They look AWESOME!!! The slight angle makes them look more agressive, and love the color and filed letters very very sharp.

I'm sure you will love them.

Kam

PS- the OE 17" rims have enough side clearance but the balance weight hits the top of the Willwood Caliper. Interestingly enought they dont need a spacer like the OE 18" to clear the caliper..... Shame cause I preffer winter driving on the 17" the ride is much smoother.

Looks good...I always wondered why the front calipers are oriented at 10 o'clock on the rotor when they would look so much better at 3 0'clock like all the German cars. ANyone ever wonder about this?

You should do some stopping tests to see if there is an change and compare it to stock magazine test results.

Thanks guys!! Since I have had to drive it some today, brakes feel more firmer and more responsive. In person, they are quite aggressive looking. I may need to bleed a bit more air out. I also want to get stanless lines for the rear. Any good sources for that?

The rear lines that came with mine were claimed to be to long by a mechanic. Zipties would probably be useful if that were the case. I know other members have them though so they should work. Just a tip if your shopping for the rear ss lines, I need to try and get mine on sometime.

Ok . . .for those of you who wanted me to let you know how these brakes are from a performance standpoint, here is my opinion. I won't say that I was racing a 350z over 100 mph and I had to slam on the brakes to stop at a red light. But . . .these brakes are AMAZZZZZING!!!!!

DEUS! Check your rears for wear and heat, I noticed when I put on my willwoods and ssline that the rears were finally being used properly.

Give it a shot!!!

Same with mine! I had two different mechanics check them out and they showed me how they were too long. They said you could zip tie them but if one of the zips broke and the line went hanging and got caught on something - bye bye rear brakes

Just looking over your other pics from the Steallin meet. Looks like you have better brakes then most of the G35, 350 and NSXs... out there.

Those cars can have a lot more power and stuff, but on the track they'll have to break early while you fly pass them and break just before the turns apex.

My last track day I kept up with a SUPRA the wholle day. Until the final session final lap he ate the pit wall trying to loose me. Punched it too hard coming out of the final corner and lost it on the straight away

Good breaks make such a huge difference in the perfomance of a car. Its not all about power thease days.

:shift

My rant.

Ur right Kam. And in addition to being very strong brakes, they looked better than the other brakes and they have NISSAN cast into the caliper instead of AP RACING, Wilwood (sorry), Project Mu and other aftermarket names.

:+1

Tru..... can the guy at Blhemco make the brackets to adapt for 13.6" rotors instead of the 12.6" OEMs? Also what is the thickness of OE rotors?

Plus this BBK costs about $400 as opposed to $2600 for a two piece APR or $1250 for Wilwood two piece.

That in its self is huuuuuuge!

I dont know if Matt Blehm has adaptors for larger rotors. The OEM rotors are 30 mm I think.

Well, the 300zx brakes have been on for a couple months now and I really love the way they feel. They just have a better feel than the OEM brakes and for the price of a brake job, you get much better feeling brakes, and they look a million times better plus its an easy install. Someone even thought they were Brembos!!!!

UPDATE: I found out the stock 18" SE rims do NOT fit. Looks like they need a spacer, prolly 5mm. Still love the brakes.
