A couple of day ago I noticed a thumping noise or rattle sound coming from the front end when I go over small bumps in the road. I can't see anything loose. It seems to be getting louder. Everything is quite when the road is smooth. Any ideas?

could be a bad strut or struts

 

I took it to the dealer today, they say it is the right front stut. Do I need to have both replaced?

 

Good question! My friend had the same problem and they replaced both of them. I had that problem also and they only replaced the right front. I guess it depends on the dealer. You would think it makes sense to change both of them.
