Normally Aspirated upgrades

You know,
I've been focusing on the availability(or lack there of) of forced induction for so long for our Max's I sorta forgot that there are some NA mods we could try.

Just a start: http://www.z1motorsports.com/product...Csid=bc5e4c941

But let's search and see what mods we can come up with.

I should have made this clear in the beginning but:

I'm not talkin any type of pipes: intakes, y's, cat-back, or headers(even though headers would be nice).

I'm talkin' reworked VQ35 head, high compression system(pistons, rods, crank), stroker kit, etc.

A smidge bit on the pricey side. Check AM forums, there's quite a bit of info of that kit in there, some good and some bad opinions.

Well IES may not be cheap, but they were given the job of developing the SR20 for Nissan in the BTCC, and achieved the highest bhp per litre of any BTCC engine

I heard that the Altima SE-R headers should fit our Max engines and they are way better than Hotshot headers as they are a perfect fit. Also I was told to add header spacers as this is adds major HP. The header y pipe combo with the ECU can add over 25 HP! Has anyone here installed Magnoflo mufflers. I saw a Max up here in Montreal today with them on. They were no too bad. Nice and loud when you pump the pedal especially with the 6 speed. Only thing is if you change your mufflers too are you not defeating the purpose? Since if you don't add the resonator on these performance mufflers you will have a very noisy car especially when you shift aggressively. Adding a resonator adds weight and restricts the engines breathing though it sounds real nice!

Disclaimer: This is only my personal opinion and I'm not trying to convince anybody else to think the way that I do.

It's a lot of fun having a lot of power, but I can't see myself dumping a lot of money into our fwd cars just so we can do burnouts at stop lights, lol... Great for straight line highway racing, if that's what you're into or just bragging rights when it comes to numbers.

So you have never been cruizin' on the highway and a car tries to challenge you, only problem being is the car has more power(or so he thinks) than your Max, and wanted to burn him.

If not then mods are not for you.

I don't race on streets any more... was fun in my old Tiburon and Eclipse.
Thing have changed ever since one friend's wrx fell off the side of a mountain and another friend died when his mustang ran off the highway into a ditch. If a complete stranger wants a battle of bigger *****, it's cool with me. We can take it to the autocross or track.

But that's just me...

Oh I would never race for long periods of time on public roads. But take it up to 120 for a sec just to show'em what I got.
