has anyone had any experience with that clear bumper protector film from 3m? i heard that its supposed to be pretty good paint insurance for those no parking ****'s who try to park a town car in a spot just big enough for a neon behind our beloved 6th gens!! especially by me..north side chicago packed in like sardines in a single file line...makes me want to..

another layer is still another layer. Anything can help. When I started parking in the street of lincoln my car was scuffed horribly after only two weeks. Try a nose mask up front.

I second that. My brother got it on his max when he was buying it and it looks horrible. It does not protect you from anything and makes your vehicle look worse after a while. Now the shield is all torn up where people hit and and it makes scratches and bumps in the bumper look worse. Also when first installed is barely visible but after a year you can easily see the difference between the two areas. I wonder what the paint is going to look like when he decides to remove it. Is it going to be a 2-tone??????

Its your choice, but in my opinion its waste of money big time. I would neither have it installed nor recommend it to anybody

nah actually the paint stays pretty much the same color, same thing happened with my cousins though after a while, waxing it alot adds to that because wax stays in the seems of it. It really all depends on who installed it and how good of a job they do. Either way its def not for parking situations lol.

If you really want to get something thats usefull for parking and dont wanna go for the stick on protectors get the skirt that you put only after you park the car, you open your trunk and hood and close it over the bands to lock it in place...very usefull.

Here is someone who has the 3-M clear bra. It does not cover the bumper shrouds -- I hit a saddle on I 76 last year and had to have the complete frount bumper shroud replaced due to the damage caused by the saddle (will tell you the story of the flying saddle, if asked).

My Max when home lives in a garage, and I don't have any of the problems discussed (perhaps because of the garage). This bra is mainly for bugs and stones and does not help with people driving pickup trucks or SUVs with high bumpers who don't know how to park.

I've been happy with mine, which I've had since May of 2003 (and over 45 K miles). It was installed on the car before my dealer got it in a swap with another dealer.
