2007 Rear Bumper?

Does anyone think the 2007 Rear Bumper will fit on the 2004-2006 Maxima just right? I have a couple scratches on the back of my 04 bumper, and instead of getting it repaired/getting a new one, I would like the 07 one to replace it, along with 07 spoiler. I'd like 07 front, but I'm replacing it with RedLineMax bumper and RedLineMax Grille.

Anything you say is helpful/appreciated! Thanks.

P.S. - Do you like 2004-2006 Rear Maxima Bumper better than 2007 Rear Maxima Bumper?

I like the '07 bumper, I was thinking of getting one for mine as well. It should fit as I don't think they changed any of the rear body panels...

I think the black plastic insert looks cheap. Just think of the old Chevy Avalanche and you know what I mean.

Sparkle - Not much diff. The '07 has delineated about a four inch high strip across the bottom of the rear bumper from about six inches or so inside the bumper corners, and painted it with a flat black paint. Many folks will look at the car and not even notice this change, especially on a dark colored car.

For me, the effect (especially on lighter colored cars) is to make the rear end not seem quite so bulky and bulbous. I personally like it, and feel it makes the car look more 'lean and athletic', but understand why some folks do not care for it.

The rear change everybody likes is the slightly bigger, shinier tail pipe 'finishers', which now have no ugly slit on the bottom.

That little strip at the bottom is the only difference. If it were chrome or a flat silver....(maybe) it would be worth a look, the new tailpipes would be a more viable poll.

Painting the bottom part wouldn't necessarily look bad, but it would defeat the whole purpose of the strip - visually shortening the rear of the car. Might as well stick with what you have if your gonna paint the strip. There's not much else, if anything, different.

Chrome is NEVER a good thing (IMHO). One of the best things about my '00 SE was the "black" chrome... its the only car I ever had that didn't go through the de-chroming ritual. Must be a generational thing... my parent's cars were 50s/60s chrome laden boats and I grew up wanting something different. The younger guys on the forum grew up with my generation's 80s/early 90s monochrome/dechromed look and now they want something different.

Now I'll shut up and go sit in my rocking chair.

The color codes are different. I wanted to get an 07 spoiler in silver, but the dealership told me the silver's changed. IIRC, Liquid Silver is KY1 and the new silver is KY11. Either way, they are different.

Unpainted would be the best way to go.

the lines of the 07 bumper are also different they are more edgier. and bolder, the 04-6 have rounder lines.

prefer the 07 bumper, planning to get one.

Sensors are an option not necessarily on all '07s.

Most 07 Ive seen has rear sonar . Altho im planning on getting the Stillen rear lip, getting the 07 rear bumper would be useless for me.

Really weird!

While waiting for my lumbar cable warranty recall work to be done, I wandered around the back lot where all the new Nissans are parked until ready for the front (display) lot.

And I saw the weirdest thing:

There were eight '07 SLs back there. Four had the flat black finish on the strip across the lower edge of the back bumper, just as the Maxima brochures show, and as I expected.

But four had the regular shiny finish matching the color of the car on that bottom strip! Two were black SLs and two were blue SLs. I couldn't believe my eyes. I felt the strips, and looked from several angles. Checked the front and the sticker to be sure they were '07s. They were. One of the SLs with the flat black strip was also black and two were blue, so this was not a 'color-related' thing.

I checked the VIN serials, and found all eight '07 SLs were assembled recently (serials between 825000 and 827000). Two of the flat black bottoms had the backup sensors, and two didn't. Same ratio with the shiny bottoms. I was not able to tie the shiny bottoms to any particular option group, but will check again soon.

Really weird.
