i was reading on a 350z forum how this one kid has a twin turbo kit on his 350z and it made me wonder. how is it that the smaller 350z can accomodate a twin turbo kit and apparently our cars cant? or why is it that there are not even single turbo kits for the max? i'm dying to put in one in my max...mostly for the sound but also because i love the speed anyways...care to answer my questions?

So you wanna turbo charge ur car for "mostly sound"? but you also like the speed.. i have a solution. go on ebay, purchase one of them speakers that simulate the blowoff sound, and for speed, get nitrous.

that sucks! i've always hated the fact that the maxima is FWD...why would nissan choose it over RWD?

Wowo....i can think of better reasons for a turbo than the sound, but it is a cool sound, just not worth 3 grand if u ask me...

I think people should forget about FI for our cars. If you you're serious about substantial power and you're serious about the Maxima just get any one of the 3 stroker kits out there(AEBS, HKS, JUN) and go NA power. I know with the AEBS kit you could get about 400 at the crank.

I know those options are expensive but I think that's the only way to go.

alright, let me clear something up. i dont think spending 3 grand is worth it either. i dont really want to. i just really love the way turbo'd cars sound. if i could have the sound (exactly like a turbo) but without the power or the money, i'd be ok. i dont race, just speed around, and considering that i still haven't pushed the car, i dont think i need turbo.

and the FWD advantages, at least the snow part, doesn't really make me any better as down here in Miami i'll never get to see snow

Trust me bro that psshhh sound of the blowoff vlave gets annoying as hell after about 3 months. I had a WRX before I got my max and I had every blowoff valve you can possibly think off, Greddy Type-s, HKS ssqv, Turbo XS RFL, Sard R2D2, Worx, Blitz, etc. and I never kept one on longer than a few months max. Only the thing I do miss is the distinctive Subie rumble of the exhaust and the spooling of the turbo, thats it.

I would love to see a turbo 6th gen. I'm sure a turbo can be stuffed somewhere, but running the piping would be challenging.
