Lots of goodies for the VQ35 motor

http://www.350z-tech.com/zwiki/Main_Page

Found a link that appears to list all the goodies for the VQ35 motor. I'm particularly interested in the cams, heads, and stroker kits available. I know all the FI, intake, and exhaust stuff won't work.

I think at least 350whp is possible with a stroker kit(bring lots of money). But I also think that with an aggressive cam and those Cosworth heads(if they fit) you might be looking at 280whp.

I would like to know how he achieved 265whp without cams but that's still a far cry from 280whp when it comes to all motor power.

Waaaiittt a minute,
If it's a 4th Gen body then it's not a stock VQ35.

VQ35DE does not make it a 6th Gen Maxima.

Sorry for trying to inform you and help you out ...

My point being, you do not need heads to get 280 fwhp, your A34's are strong, and tht is proven by your dyno.

You need to have your engine set up nicely and tuned well. SR20DEN has an A33B (no not a 6th gen) but the cars are very similar, so whatever has worked for him will work for you guys.

Check /forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=478519

Chernmax got 253WHP without the Technosquare ECU mod. Tek-Niq got 17 more WHP from the ECU. So you are close to 270whp.

Port intake to match head ports + polish inside. Switch to colder thermostat.
Synthetic oil in power steering and engine. You are now close to 280.

Would could lighten the car (battery, rims, tire, rotors, etc). It like getting 1 hp for each 10 lbs removed.

Since my powertrain in under warranty until 60K/60m, I have to stay away from cams and heads.

WTF does that matter man? A VQ35 is a VQ35, period. Sheesh... We'd love to give you numbers from a 6th gen but alot of people seem to be more interested on whether they should put 20's or 21's on their rides or which cat-back to get than hardcore n/a performance. (correct me if i'm wrong) Furthermore, if anything, those numbers he gave you are a bit conservative since the A34 VQ35's seem to make more power mod for mod than the A33B VQ35.

The point is, you don't need to touch the heads to get to 280 WHP. I'd personally raise the compression before i did that.

Alright alright,

It wasn't meant to be a big argument. As you can see from my car I have stock wheels.

How do you raise the compression without changing the pistons and/or rods? Or was that your point?

I would think that would be more work than changing the heads.
