Is it 4 bad tranies/clutches in a row, or somethingelse to cause the tranies/clutches to go bad? The lemon law should apply, depending on the documentations. Good luck.

Sorry to hear about your luck. Hopefully it can get resolved without too much fighting with the dealer.

If it's 4 clutches, they could easily make the case that your driving killed them.

If it's 4 transmissions... Lemon. There is probably some weird problem that's causing unusual stress and breaking them.

Was it four repairs on the same transmission or four new transmissions? I have 55k on the original clutch and transmission. It is stress tested on a regular basis, so far no protestations.

im not exactly sure what keeps breaking, they just tell me there ordering a new one, ther second time they said the pinion was bad. the clutch was only done once and i think they just did to get some cash from me. cause i have never wore out a clutch in my life. they still got the car it should be done today or tomorrow. i think im just gonna get rid of it and start wit a new car. this has been the worst experience ever. i bought new to save the headaches and yet this car is worse then every used car i have owned.

Find out what broke each time. The service records should be available to you. Just walk in and ask for them, and don't leave unless you have every detail. That information will be very important as ammo if it reveals that you have a lemon

The problem could just be the dealer itself screwing your car up after the first visit.

i cant imagine going through four clutches unless you have too much power and clutch cant hold it. maybe its time for an upgraded clutch

I think that qualifies the car as a lemon.

What were the symptoms each time?

Not a mechanic but from things i've see things are misaligned somewhere.

Damn and I though I had problems with mine. Yep, after gazilion visits to the dealer for gazillion different problems I am getting the entire steering column replaced. I bought brand new with 7, yes 7 miles on it so that I wouldn't have any problems unlike with the pre-owned jeep. I love this car but the problems keep on coming.

my tranny went bad as well a couple months ago (auto) and it was due to the a burned clutch. the auto clutch that is. anyways, my point is that i heard things from nissan that in the past, companies have made up that therethere is a major problem with someones car such as the tranny, get new parts, and dont put it on ur car. they make a couple thousand on those kind of things. just thought maybe if it goes "bad" again, u could mark ur tranny with a mark and see if they really did anything or they are just pulling ur leg.

I had to have my tranny replaced at 23K...of course it was under warranty but, I think it's a problem with these cars. I had it replaced because I lost one of my gears....they said it was the short shifter that caused the problem. Luckily, they replaced it. The new tranny still grinds and I think my clutch is now wearing out....I have 43K on the car right now.

I'll see if I can get it replaced again but, it may still grind.

Good luck with your car, and I would try the lemon law in your case.

Do yourself a favor...google New Jersey lemon law and find out what constitutes a lemon. Then get yourself a reputable lawyer. Nissan is the worst for rectifying a lemon. Trust me I know, my car is a lemon and Nissan is re-purchasing it after a long drawn out battle. It's an 05' Maxima.
