Shine/Clean engine?

What product(s) do all of you use to shine/clean your engine? I would really appreciate having my engine clean & shiny. Thanks.

Engine degreaser for metal parts? For the plastic I use Armor-All and it keeps it nice and pretty!

I use the "Original" Protectant spray. I would not suggest spraying it on the plastic itself because that will leave "spray" marks even after wiping it and that would be a big . You can use wipes if you'd like but if you go with the spray then just spray it on a towel and wipe it on.

the key to a clean engine bay is to regularly clean it. when you wash your car, pop the hood wipe it down, if its dirtier then just dust find a good cleaner, something that can be sprayed on and wiped off (not windex). if you do this, it should stay clean and shiny, if your going to show the car, and are going to use armoral to bring out that wet look DO NOT SPRAY!!! find a good aplicator (sponge like) soak it, apply it well, let it sit and wipe off access.

No usually it gives it a tint of black dust! lololololol

Yes, it gives it a good shine! Just like when you polish up your leather shoes before you go out!

Perfect, I'll stop by Pep Boys tomorrow and pick one up then take some pics

I'd really like my whole engine(plastic part) to be painted silver..now that would look nice. Think any car painter can do that?

There is a product made by gunk that I just bought and did my engine with before I got rid of it. You can rinse it with a hose and you can spray it on all of the engine compartment. It degreases and shines. It worked great. You can find it at any auto parts store.

I just bought the Armor All Original Protectant Spray to do my engine with for $4.99 from PepBoys. Let me tell you, it was worth the $5. I wish I took before pics, but I'm going to take some after pics soon. It looks like it just rolled off the assembly line (the engine).

Now, do any of you know what product to use to shine the interior of the car with a high gloss like they do with pre-owned cars? I really would like to do that as well with the high gloss.

Please please let me know what product is the best to shine the interior and make it like a pre-owned car from the dealership. Thanks!

I'm assuming that you have leather through-out the car right? If so then I use Meguir's Gold Glass Leather Cleaner/Conditioner and it is awesome! Shines the black leather right up, and leaves a really pleasant smell in the car afterwards. Also, use a Terry Cloth for doing this.....but make sure to get all of the little fuzzy white/blue/yellow things out of it first.

When spraying make sure to not over-spray because after a while you will notice the oever spray oon your center console controls and all. Just spray 1-2 times on the seat of the seat and 3-4 on the back rest, and the center console just wipe it down pretty good and spray no more than one time. The back seat do about 5-7 sprays on the seat and about the same for the back rest. And make sure to wipe down the head rests and the backs of the front seats as well. You can also do the dashboard, but be careful not to get any on the windshield, and now you have a nicely shined and nicely smelled car! O and you can also do the door panels, but dont spray them, just use the towel to wipe it thoroughly.

And there's the pics. Let me know what you think. For $4.99 you can't go wrong!

Does anyone know if someone can paint all of the plastic parts of the engine silver (the color of my Max)? Has anyone had this done? Thanks.

Ya, but on the parts that are "less leathery" as in the dashboard/door panels and such DO NOT spray it on, spray it on the towel and then wipe it on, because if sprayed directly, you will most likely have the same effect as spraying the plastic stuff in your engine bay, and once again that would be a

I know what you mean. I spray directly on my microfiber cloths. I make sure I keep a lot of them clean & handy..especially when you can throw them in the washer & reuse them again and again! I used one microfiber cloth to clean my engine in the pics above.

Engine cover was custom done by a friend of mine who is a graphic artist in my area. Check out his site and other work at:

www.joekerner.com

As for the front bumper license plate bracket, they sell inexpensive kits at Autozone, Advanced Auto, etc. or you can do like I did, I removed the bracket that was already on my OEM bumper and installed on the RLM one...

Oh yeah I forgot, the Scunci Steamer is my best friend. All of those little nooks and crannys (no offense Defiant_Max04, becuase I see the same spots that I dealt with in your pics!!) But this thing handles all of those hard to reach spots. And best of all no chemicals! I use this on everything...

I use Meguir's Gold Glass Leather Cleaner/Conditioner for the interior as well. It's the best, I recommend spraying it on the cloth first, outisde the car, that stuff is so fine it lands all over the place when I try to spray inside the vehicle.
