Should I go with yellow fogs down below?

Well one of my bulbs burnt out in my fogs on the lower part of my bumper. I was thinking of going yellow to match the upper fogs. What do you guys think?

If its a bright yellow like the ones on Lexus cars. Those look tight. I can always tell the cheap yellow bulbs versus the real ones on Lexus cars. You'll see everything on the road too.

Forget doing either one. Buy a hid kit for the fogs to match you headlights and blind everyone. Or rewire the fogs to come on with the parking lights and keep your headlights off before sunset. It is a head turner.

I would like to have the fogs come on as daytime running lights at maybe 60% brightness.

This is what I did, I converted the PIAA ring lights to 6K HID's.

The fogs do come on with the parking lights, that's usually how I run them before it's completely dark...HID might be the way....hmmm.
(maybe I'll update the poll)

A little O.T. question...

Would the way you have the lower fogs wired to the parking lights work for the re-wiring of the OEM fogs to come on with the parking lights too? Would it be a simple cut and splice job?

Yellow is functional for the driver during rain and fog. If you don't get too much of that I would suggest the other options mentioned.

How so? I mean it's only the light that gives you the most visibility at night. And don't tell me that you don't like the combo of lights on an IS300!?

I vote yellow, for the same reason RideTuner gave; yellow is known to give the best vision in fog or inclimate weather. Yellow has always been the most practical and functional color for fogs.

But, if your Maxima is simply for show, then that opens up all the 'doors', and gives you an almost unlimited array of options . . .

I do like the yellows you see on the IS, always have. HID's may be an option as well, but I'm leaning towards the yellow. Again I live in So Cal so we get fog rarely and rain almost never. It would definitely be more for looks...

Thanks for all the feedback!!!

just remember how my car looked at night at the TE meet recently, it looks cool IMO. I have had yellow fogs pretty much since I had the car. I love the ones that I have right now, which are projector foglights (with a cutoff shield inside). They actually produce yellow light through the lens itself, which I think is cool since I don't have to buy yellow bulbs to keep it looking yellow. I also like that the lights give off a bluish/purplish light above the cutoff (to prevent blinding of oncoming traffic)

Look at me, I just went on a tangent. The only problem that I would see with having yellow fogs in your case would be if it doesn't match with the white rings your fogs have. It would definitely be cool to try though.

J, I like the whites best. You can always go with the Yellow and if they ever go and you get tired of them, you can always kick back to the whites...

Does PIAA have a yellow and last, since I have the same fogs, what is our fog bulb size/part num#??? Thanks if you know...

yellow BULBS suck...not that yellow. I've used PIAA Crystal Ion, Narva Gold, and 2 or 3 others and none of them are nearly as yellow as a Lexus.

If you're gonna do it, do it right with the capsules (and you can just use OEM bulbs)

To whoever said "yellow is the new blue" i beg to differ. Blue is and illegal. Yellow has been used for decades and is legal. My 1970 Triumph still has its STOCK yellow Hella fogs....

Yellow is not JDM at all....it is entirely a European look. Since the 1960s European cars have mostly been fitted with yellow fogs, and for a decade or two they also had yellow headlights. Yellow is more effective for visibility in fog compared to white.

Lexus did not "invent" yellow fog lights....and they weren't the first to put them on their cars.

What are "capsules?" And can't you also get a 3k HID kit for the ultimate EDM/JDM look?

Sorry, I forgot I'm in the 6th gen forum

The capsules are just what they sound like....little yellow glass pieces that go inside the fog light housings over the bulbs. I don't know if they will work or not on 6th gens, but several 4th and 5th gen guys have done them. You can get them from HIDTech.com for about $10-15 IIRC.

Sure, the 3k HIDs work too....but are alot more expensive for a similar look.

Please....please.....please stop using the term "JDM."
