Exterior quality

In the rear where the trunk lid meets the bumper, the gap is wider on the drivers side. In the front I can get my fingers between the hood and bumper where the passenger headlight is. On the drivers side I can't do this. This car is certified and should not have had any body work. I was thinking maybe somone was trying to get the headlight, but that doesn't explain the rear.

Any of you guys have this?

I'm even all the why around. It's not hard to adjust gaps back into place, just time consuming.

I had the same problem when i first got mine bout 2 years ago, there are some rubber spacers on the hood that can be adjusted by turning them clockwise or counter clockwise, that would even out the hood. As far as the trunk is concerned...you are on your own with that one.

I don't know if they have fixed the gaps in the rear, but all 2004 Maximas have that problem.

And mine (unequal space at bottom of trunk lid).

Bothered me the first year or so.

The trunk lid had perfect spacing on both sides, and along the top, so I decided the correction would need to be made by adjusting the bumper. But the bumper already fits perfectly with the side panels, so I didn't want to touch that. Now I try not to even think about it.

I'd rather have a few cosmetic issues with my car, than having powertrain issues or electric issues or other MAJOR stuff! knock on wood.............

Mine does the same thing near the Headlights..

Another thing that bother me is that the bumpers sometimes look a little darker than the rest of the car.. I have a frost white car and the bumper sometimes looks like its tan under certain lights. In direct sunlight it looks frost white all the way around.

Are you sure its not a layer of dirt? Because that would be very visible on a white car!

That's weird. The trunk gap is noticable if somone who cares really looks. At first I thought someone with a huge *** sat on the bumper and made it pull a little.

My 2004 didnt have this issue, but you are right lots of them had it. I would think that anything after 2004 would have been corrected

The hood spacers worked. Thanks. The trunk spacers don't adjust. Maybe I'll ask the dealer.

Got a cement truck to bump into you. After my accident, the gaps got bigger but somehow it looks evenly now. So I guess it's the bumper.
