Battery for our Max????

What would be the best battery to buy for my 2005 MAX?

I currently have a nissan brand battery and I want to make sure I get top battery output for all of my future mods...

Also, what can i use to clean my battery? I took the advise of some of the other pro-max owners and cleaned my engine.... (looks very shinny) but my battery looks like poop!

thanks guys!

I use Optima Red Top battery. It's smaller and lighter than the original. Last longer too.

My wife paid about $120 at costco (at the time I said @#@$, 1st time asking a lady to buy guys' stuffs and she spent $120 for a battery). About two years later, it didn't hold a charge anymore (my wife's fault. She often forgot to turn off the headlights. She blew about 1 battery every two years). Costco refunded the whole thing (it came w/5year 100% refund warranty). I then went to Autozone and bought a $45 battery. Well, I'm expecting to buy another in two years.

Had to replace my battery after 18 months. It shorted, dead, away from home. Had to pay full price for 24F Interstate. I think the engine heat is one killer. Vibrations are bad too (lowered, stiffer front end?). Bigger also means heavier. I have never heard an Optima go bad. To clean it use my Blue Corral car soap.

No, that's a grounding kit. The Japanese have long been using a method called "earthing", where they take large gauge cable and connect it through various points in the cars engine bay to help the electric current ground itself for more efficient flow. A Grounding Wire Kit is made up of large stereo quality 4 Gauge high conductive cable that has industrial crimped and sleaved copper ends to bolt to the chassis of the car. The reason copper is used is for a higher conductivity rate.

What does a Ground Kit do? As tested by numerous respected tuners, magazines, and shops, a ground kit does what you want, add power. Results vary depending on car but here is the average results:

- 3-5 Horsepower increase

- Increased Fuel Mileage

- Better Electrical Current (Headlights Brighter, Stereo stronger, etc.

- Dress' up your engine bay!

When my battery goes, I want a lightweight racing battery that will hold up to street driving. Any suggestions there?

I decided to try out the Deka ETX14 which is supposedly the same as the Braille Racing 11lbs battery. It will be arriving next week, will do some testing to see if it is suitable for daily street driving. Found the info in the Z forum which had the link to a VW forum disscussion. Price of Deka ETX14 is $60 compare to $175 Braille B14115 battery.

Tks Jay.are for the links. The reserve of the Deka is quite small, under 25 minutes, 60-80% less than our group 24 battery. The other hic is the maximum charging amps of the Maxima exceeds the 5-10 amps maximum of those ETX (ETX14,16,18).

AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) gel cell type seem to have much more CCA per lbs than regular acid battery.

Did you check the Odyssey PC680T? That is one cute small car battery. http://www.odysseybatteries.com/battery/pc680t.htm
