Anyone else have this happen anti-sway bar issue).

I installed an after-market anti-sway bar about a year ago. Over the past week or so I've been hearing a rattle which I though was coming from something in my trunk but couldn't find anything. Today I crawled under the car an to my amazement saw a sheared off anti-sway bar bushing bracket.

I mean this thing was completely sheared off with both bolts still in place holding the two peices.

Does anyone recall is the bracket was the original piece that came with the Maxima or did it come with the anti-sway bar kit (the ones sold here in group deals from Catman I think)?

Bracket come with car, cattman just gives you new bushings.

Call Brian Catts and find out if he'll warranty the bushings for you mang.

Do you have a kid over 18, joy riding, going airborne too many times?

I wonder if the RSB was installed in the reverse order? I am trying to picture the RSB making contact with a suspension component during compression, putting enough pressure on the brackets until they snap. I just can't. The bushing spreads the load on the bracket. Unless the RSB dug through the bushing until it hit the bracket hard enough to break it. I am amazed that the studs did not break.

kinda OT, but for the ones that did the progress rsb and racingline endlinks, what was the best way to remove the 14mm nuts holding the endlink to the rsb? mine were frozen so i sprayed wd40 today. im thinking of using an air ratchet to remove the nuts.

Make sure to set the speed to low or medium.....or just make sure you don't eff it up! lol Or you can heat the nuts up.

Took my endlinks off two weeks ago. Did not have to put more than 50lbs on the nut. Use 14mm for the nut and 17mm wrench on other side of RSB to hold bolt.

Nope...it was just me, and the bar is on correctly.

My theory is that there was a small hairline crack in the thing from the factory. When I replace it with the new one (about $7.00) I'll take a photo and post it here.

FWIW, I ordered a replacement and they sent me the wrong part (even though the number was correct). The bracket was too tall, too skinny, and the bolt holes didn't line up. A new one is coming in this week.

Well, this is the SECOND time that Nissan has sent the wrong part (see first image). The top one is the part they sent both times, the bottom is the original (I put the broken piece where it should go but you can tell whre it is sheared...lower right).

The second image speaks for itself. The third shows things a little closer up.

Can someone verify what their clamps look like nd post back here please?

Come on guys, someone help me out here mmmkay?

All I need is for you to have a peak under your car to see what the stabilizer/anti-sway bar clamps look like. Are they tall, skinny and offset like my dealer claims they should be, or shot fat and straight like on my car?

They have order in two different clamps and said they even looked under a Maxima and they all are of the tall skinny offset type.

Something is wrong here!

One more plea.

Nissan still can't seem to find the right bracket. Will someone please crawl under their car to see which type of clamp they have...the tall skinny one or the short fat one (like I have...that they say I shouldn't have).

Thanks!

You might try the listed URL evidently the is more than one bushing bracket for the 05 SE. No mention of auto or manual. But in the 04-5 Parts listings there are two listings for the bushing one for auto and one for manual. The Bushing Bracket for the manual trans is R 56233-7Y001

This is one for the books...

The part was wrong because they kept ordering a FRONT anto-sway bar bracket. I requested a REAR one.
