Dealer Wripped My Leather Seat!! NEED ADVICE

Took my 04 Max into the dealership today to get my CD player replaced. When I made the appt they told me that there was a recall on some seat harness piece and asked if they could replace it. Sounded simple enough so I said ok.

Big Mistake! I picked up my car and got about a block from the dealership and figured I should probably look over my car to make sure nothing got messed up today. Outside looked good but when I went to sit back down I about sh*t.

The leather around the control piece portion of my leather seat was all F'ed up. It's pulled up around the left piece, there's some kind of leather trim piece hanging on the lumbar control, the far right side is wripped, and it's dirty as sh*t.

I immediatly went back to the service part of the dealership. They acted all surprised and said they needed to order a trim piece. I was like I don't give a &#%$ about the trim piece, my seat is F'in wripped!

They told me to call down and that they would fix it. Catch is my seats are aftermarket Katzkin leather. Plus, I obviosly don't want them touching my seats again.

If anyone could provide advice on what to do I would GREATLY appreciate it.

Pic's of damage: (sorry if large, can never seem to make them small)

Ive got aftermarket leather in my car. When I bought it the dealer thought it was stock, and the back panel on the drivers seat was messed up. Obviously, as a condition of buying the car I told them it must be repaired. They ended up having to go to the aftermarket supplier to buy me a new seat back. Keep up on them, and write a letter documenting everything ASAP, sending them a copy certified mail.

Wow, looks like a 2 year old worked on it. Keep after them until they make it right.

make them send it to an shop that does leather. They should not be messing with the leather anyway.

on that

I work at a Chevrolet stealership and I remember a tech re-doing the whole interior of an Equinox and when he put all of the cloth back on the seats, it looked like ****! It wasn't stretched properly and was very "saggy" in a few different places. Very good guy, but just didn't do much of a good job with that.

I wouldn't think they would have a problem fixing that. There's no way they can say that was your fault. I'd go ask for the manager right off and simply complain about the shotty workmanship. I put my car in for an oil change (2000 cougar), when I went to pick it up, there was oil on my REAR seat (they must have took if for a spin), as soon as I compained, I got new seats, and a complete detail. They filled up my tank and gave me 5 free oil changes for my troubles (not to mention a rental car for the 2 days it took them to fix the car up). Simply go in and complain, a good dealership will always look after you.

Thats sloppy and lazy, but i dont think anything is ripped. I think the pastic piece surrounding the lumbar was never put back, and that leather n the bottom wasnt properly tucked in (i bet if you pull it down it will get rid of the gap over the buttons, tell them they left all the finishing pieces missing.

you should catch the tech who worked on your car and strap him to a chair and take a box cutter, trim some skin off his a$$ the same size as it would take to fix your leather, like leather face would do. moral of the story..i bet he'll be more carefull with other peoples property next time!

How could the idiot who did the work NOT think you would notice, I've seen better work on stolen stripped cars.

Not to be off your topic, but why did you need to replace your CD player? Just curious to see if you were having the same issues that I am now...
