Want to buy 07 max for $23,000 OTD ?

Hello,
I am looking to buy a base 2007 Maxima and I saw one (black with cloth seats)that I really like. Do you guys think I can get it for $23,000OTD in SoCal? If anybodyld has connections that you could share that would be great.
Also, could you guys tell me if it is possible to put a Pioneer AVIC HU in this car? How much would it be?
Thanks for your help!

I'm not sure about this. Maybe you can. Maybe not. Have you considered a lease to help soften your payments? Maybe buy an 'end of the year' deal?

I am not interested in a lease. I have the dealer down to $25,000.00 and was hoping for more. I sent more request to other dealers in the area

The mark up isn't there. That's already below cost.

If someone offered to sell me a base '07 Maxima at $23K, I would be very very suspicious. Especially a popular black one.

The '07s have not been out long enough for dealers to be selling below holdback price. $23K is a price you might have trouble getting at many dealers for a base '06 Maxima.

So the answer to your question is 'no'. In fact, I feel you will have trouble getting a base '07 Maxima for a whole lot under $25K at this time.

I would think you might be able to catch a dealer desperate to meet quotas late in December. if you are lucky, you might be able to wrangle a price just under $24K at that time at some dealers.

Sorry I can't help with the Pioneer.

As far as installing the AVIC, there's no kit out yet and not sure how soon there would be one available. They made the '07 even more difficult to replace the HU from what it looks like.
Good luck on the pricing thing , seems like $25K is a pretty good deal...

I mean the base or cheapest possible price for a max, is like 28 something (with dest), so getting a BRAND NEW one with no miles for 23k...i would be suspicious.

OTD, with tax and ttl, while '05's were still on the lot?

Just take it for $25K. That is a great great deal. If they won't go down in price, make them give you things such as Entire Warranty free, or a free Remote starter, many other things of value..it works!!

Getting a very good deal on the '06 a year ago was possible at some dealers for the simple reason the '06s looked exactly like the '04s and '05s. No exterior or interior or power train changes to flaunt in front of the gang.

Not so for the '07. Entirely redone front end, subtle changes on the side and back, major changes on the interior, entirely new tranny, etc. Something new to impress the bros in the hood. Or your annoying brother-in-law. Makes getting a really good deal difficult for months. Maybe by late December, when the weather is cold, Christmas shopping is big, and the car lots are desolate and empty of customers.

I was thinking the same thing Xmas should be a right time to buy. The lowest I got offered was 25K OTD. Another one just called me 15mns ago and ask if I would go up a little bit. I told him 23.5K, he said to give him sometime to think about it.

I prepare to buy 2007 Maxima SE base model with trade-in 06 Altima 2.5S special edition, which I bought last month with only 600 miles on it. I believe it's at least worth 16K. (bought it at 20K) Is it possible to get it at 9K?

I'm looking to get a used 2004 Maxima SE auto/4-seater that has caught my eye. I'm afraid of potential problems though. I checked the VIN and two of the recalls apply to this vehicle (the third recall about panoramic roof panes does not apply thank goodness).

What exactly should I look for before buying this car? Helpful tips are welcome. Thanks.

The Shimmy issue!

Have them replace the Goodyear Eagle RSA tires with something else....anything else.

Check front shocks

Then check the stickies (Rules in red above the 6th gen topics! There you will find a wealth of info for your car, concerning the do's and dont's!

Hope that helps

The more I read I'm discovering this car is plagued with problems. Struts, shimmy, engine knocks, etc etc. Now I'm having second thoughts. Damn nice car too... too bad it's the first year model.

You'd be lucky to get a base model altima 3.5 SE for that.

Its just a refresh of the 6th gen. Its fundamentally the same car as the 04-06, with a few changes...mostly cosmetic, witch exception to the cvt. Most of those problems should (hopefully) be ironed out in the 07 model.
