Removing Front Dash (Head Unit) in 04 Max

I apologize if there is a sticky for this but can someone briefly explain how to remove the front dash in an 04 Max? Just the part near the Headunit and all the AC controls etc. I need to get behind my radio.

Thanks so much everyone.

I guess it depends which Alpine NAV you want to install...not sure what "bose or non bose" would have to do with it?

not true, I have the avic n2 hooked right up to the bose with no converter of any kind.

I didn't do any custom work to get it to fit, the braket that comes with the pioneer works well with our metal braket in the console, so it screws right up to it.

my 15" takes up most of the top of the pic, but you can see the dash well..

Top screen is a Nesa 7" TFT monitor.
The middle in a Pioneer AVIC-N2
It's a good setup, I only wish I would've waited for the new Pioneers, but I got a good deal...

Of course, see the pic above. You can see the info. All you're doing is moving it down and plugging it back in. As for the kit, it's the Metra kit...

My CD player is skipping in my Max with Bose and Navi, and I definitely don't want to buy a factory deck anymore. I have an Alpine 9815 from my other car, do you know a way to use the existing amplifier and speakers? Is it possible to tap the sound from the navi into the car as well?

Thanks,

Ming

You can use the stock parts for sure. I had all mine done professionally so not sure exactly what I could tell you. As for the NAVI sound, not sure on that most of us who have upgraded did not have stock NAV....

So since a double din h.u. does not fit on top how about putting one in the middle part. If anyone has done this please let me know if you used the metra kit and how did you do it. I'm really want a d.d. instead of the flip out kind. I believe I have seen a couple max's here with it but for some reason I cant find them now. Thanks
