Two Things Going On.. Advice Please!

Hello all! It's been a while since i've been on here!

Ive got two things going on with my Max. First off, I just installed the Fujita CAI (which is drool worthy!) and now my check engine light is on constantly. Anyone know how to correct this or if the dealership can reset it?

Second, my suspension is popping a lot. I go up and down a parking deck at work everyday and the popping is frequent. I can physically feel it under my pedals. Thoughts?

Thanks guys!

Take the MAF sensor and reverse it. You installed it backwards in the car.

In regards to the CEL, there may be an air leak somewhere along the joints of the intake. Try check all the joints and make sure they're all tight and there are no gaps. Then you may need to have the CEL reset. This is fairly common when installing intakes the first time.

come on, you cannot install the MAF the wrong way, the screws won't match up.

the CEL will go away in a matter af a week or less if you keep it on,

if you don't wanna wait just go to the nearest Auto Zone and ask for their scanner and clear it for free.

its no big deal, eventually it will go away if everything is on properly.

What Tek said above, most times the CEL light will come on if you installed your CAI with removing one of your battery terminals. Go to an Autozone and have them clear the code, if it is truly a problem, the light will come back on!!!

As for the popping sound, sounds like a bad strut. Stand parallel next to each front wheel, place both hands on your hood over the wheel and push straight down hard and release, the car should rise and stop. If it looks bouncy, your strut is most likely blown. Another potential problem may be if you have lowering springs, they where improperly installed, this problem is more evident with Eibach lowering springs...

I installed the Fujita myslelft while the battery was disconnected. Finished the install and connected the battery. Lots of noise from CAI and no "CEL" light. So far so good. Boy this noise is addictive even thou my MPG plunged.

mpg should not drop, as long as long as you're improving the way the car breathes... ie- intake and exhaust.

K, how positive are you the part (MAF TUBE) that connectes the Lower tube (down to airfilter) and upper tube (connects to throttle body) is not reversed?

I would unplug the battery and turn the key over to start, this drains the ecu. Then recconect the battery and restart the car.

But do this only after you'r 100% sure the MAF is installed correctly.

hydro-lock is when you suck up a bunch of water through your CAI ... very bad for the engine so, avoid big puddles/lakes/oceans ...

you don't have to worry about hydro lock with any cold air intake as long as you keep the wheel wells intact and not broken..

If it wasn't an issue, it wouldn't void the warranty. Now you were saying..?
