Anyone have a pic...

...of the "flat-spot" in the exhaust? Anyone that has done their exhaust should know what I am talking about.

I'm asking for this because I want to get an estimate on how much it would cost to put a "straight-pipe" in its place.

Thanks much
Dan

Why dont you take the picture yourself, or go to the exhaust shop to get a qoute and have the guy look at it himself.

I had it done from after the y-pipe to the split. I paid $200 including a Magnaflor resonator.

How did the resonator make the exhaust sound?

yeah, i was under the car a couple of days ago installing the racingline endlinks and the progress rsb and i noticed that. i thought i hit something but there were no indications of such. i also thought there was something above it but when i looked, there was plenty of room for nissan to have used a non-bent pipe.

Exhaust sounds a little deeper and louder. I've never heard it driven away, just at start up and idle; but my mechanic noticed it was louder when I went for minor service.

I think so, I dynoed 212whp/225wtq with that and k&n filter. Same size pipe as stock, just no kinks.

Never got before dyno, but I think stock is around 200whp/220wtq. Someone has stock number handy?

So you got those gains just getting a straight pipe where the bent one was and a new resonator? Not bad

Alright, so today I called my shop and asked teh guy about this, and he said that installing just the mufflers and a new "straight-pipe" would deteriorate the other parts of the exhaust eventually...is this true/possible?

I'm getting closer and closer to getting this done
Dan

edit* hey RHMax, whats the part # of the resonator that you have?
