I purchased mine here..... http://www.superbrightleds.com/mini-wedge.html Wled 6led base bulb.

I think some ordered these......... http://autolumination.com/194.htm One super wide Oval forward facing led plus 4 side facing leds

I'm going to try the one from auto lumination to see which one is brighter.

I had those on mine; however they started flashing/blinking, like they were about to "burn" out. As you can imagine, blinking LEDS on your license plate attracts a wide array of police.

The wedge matrix bulbs from autolumination work best. Don't buy a bulb that only directs light forward because the bulb doesn't point directly towards the lens...

I've never had any problems. It always possible to get a defective bulb. I bought some similar ones off of EBAY and put them in my wife's car and they started to flicker after a few weeks. Autolumination has always been good to me though...

For me it was multiple white leds that started flickering. Could just be a bad batch.

yep.. he's ryt... maybe take out 3 or 4 clips to give you more room to work on.... you dont have to take out the rubber thing... twist and pull out the bulb sockets from each side and replace the bulbs... depends on the year of your max.. but my 08 has "194-socket type" bulbs for the license plate lights... i got my leds from v-leds.com... it should be easy.. just be careful not to break the clips..

I never quite understood the desire for brighter license plate lights. Why make a cops job easier by making it easier for them to read your plate and give you tickets???
