How to remove the glove box assembly?
Hello,
I was trying to install the Nissan iPod interface into my 2004 Maxima, but could not remove the glove box assembly. I was able to only remove 6 out of 7 screws holding the assembly in place Even after removing the glove box completey by removing the pegs (they were a pain to remove) and then detaching the glove box from the cord holding it in place, I still couldn't see the last screw to remove. I think it may be under the trim piece that is loweest to the ground on the passenger side against the center console, but I'm not sure how to remove that one either. Has anyone removed either of these two pieces before? Any advice on how to proceed?
Thanks!

1) Remove the left and right foot covers from passenger area
left (center console) cover has 2 pins/pegs on top portion
carefull they are snapped on some fragile plastic bracket
right cover- pull from back or rotate top portion left
2) remove 3 screws at bottom of dash: left, center and right.
If you don't remove the lower trims, you will not see two lower screws
3) Open glove box and remove left and right screws, and 2 screws for latch.
4) Pull top a tad hard to un-snap the pins.
5) Disconnect trunk switch wire, center glove box bulb and then lower bulb
The yellow connectors under the dash are for the air bags. Much safer to disconnect battery before doing any wiring.

Sorry, lot of questions but as far as I know you are the first one to install this interface from Nissan.
Thanks in advance.

BTW, the original thread where we discussed this is (although I just checked and I see that you have posted there as well...):

As soon as I get more time this week to remove the glove box assembly, I'll see how much further I can get.

i-Pod interface install and working!
I was able to install the i-Pod interface on my Maxima 04. See my response under i-pod interface. You will be able to control the i-pod from the steering wheel and radio controls but the song information won't be display on the screen.
