New Maxima For Me!

Hey everyone, im picking up an 05 maxima SL in exchange for my 03, and i need a little bit of help with the transition. In my 03, i have the ipod connected to the stereo using a tape adapter. I understand that i can use something to connect my ipod directly to the radio in the 05 because it has the SAT button on the front. i have looked at http://www.discountcarstereo.com/detail.aspx?ID=754 , and the AAI-NIS2. Can someone tell me which is the better one to use? i also may be interested in adding a spoiler to the back. Anyone with help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

My one regret, well 2nd regret is that I didn't wait for the '07' spoiler. I have the 'lip' that I negotiated as part of the purchasing agreement. I really like the '07' though.

Otherwise I love it.

as for the controls.... i think the nissan adapter will allow you to control the volume. Call your dealership-parts office. they should know the benifits.

But its your call, factory parts are expensive but more reliable and compatible vs. after market parts...

The 07 spoiler is on my list of next parts... easy to install....

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=326249 ... If i used this method to hook the radar detector up to my new 05, would the resulting connection come on/turn off with the key, or would it be constant power to the detector? thanks.

Nissan Ipod interface

I have the official nissan ipod interface on my 05 Max, I use to use a cassette adapter before but this ipod interface is a great product and worth the money. I installed it myself so i saved on the labor. With this interface you are able to control the functions from your head unit and are able to skip songs and control the volume from the streering wheel. The songs and menus are displayed on the info screen. I read about similar products that are suppose to work like this but i read somewere that one of the products works very similar to a cd changer as you are limited to 3 playlist that you can play. I dont know if they all work like this but i just didnt want to regret anything so i went with the oem nissan ipod interface. It might cost a bit more but im very satisfied with it.
