STS Turbo.

Okay.....yes i have more info, but at the moment i am needing to gauge intrest in a STS TURBO, roughly 4 thousand dollars for everything other than the installation. I am now working with STS and their team for the development of a turbo for our cars. They said that if we can get 3-5 people on board with a couple hundred dollars down then they will proceed with the develoment. It all will bolt right on and attach to the exhaust in the rear of the car, the only issue is the tunning but they are willing to take care of all that if we can get some intrest. I am also working with procharger as well but i think hands down i am going to be boosted with a turbo from sts...much more efficient...okay so lets post up and be for real here, yes their will be a GB but first they need to gain intrest.......get it will its hot......dont be the last to have this, finally a TURBO for our cars and Altimas Too!!!!!!

They have had this for years for the altima. These guys have been around forever and its kinda back and forth BS, I for one will NOT be giving them any money cause more than likely my car will be sold before they get it finished. Just havent been impressed with their stuff in the past.

I'v been talking to Dave at STS. He said last summer they would have the 350Z Turbo ready by Fall. Well still no go on that......

If it bolts right into place i'm in. I can do my own install.

Curious where they can fit the STS in the back. The gas tank is under the rear seat. Maybe if you eliminate one muffler. I do like the concept and the ease of installation.

If you guys were not informed/ checked the FI forum lately, me and my friend streetzlegend put together a RMT on his car with parts we had laying around. All the parts came out to $1800ish (we did the installation/ fabrication/ tuning ourselves, he had a wideband and a VAFC-2 in the car prior to the turbo).

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=506063

(please if you have any questions about the kit we put together, ask on ^^ thread, not this one. If you have any questions about STS kit ask here- to minimize post-whoring on either threads)

Of course, if you're the type that pays others to do the work on your car, then you should definatly jump into this GD that maxchef is trying to put together (STS will undoubtably make a "painless installation kit" to make it all easy for ya). But if you know what you're doing and you dont mind getting dirty, you can put the kit together on your own for your car for under $2Grand if you know how to shop around. Please dont try it if you are a n00b with fabrication/ alot of tuning/ turbo tech. If you are, go STS!

Im not saying STS is overpriced at all. If they do make the kits for around $4k, that is cheaper than the old PFI turbo kits for the 4th gens, so it would be an awesome deal. They include EVERYTHING you'd need to do it so it would almost be a plug-n-play installation.

Just throwing another option out there

Since we have two mufflers, does that mean that we can run a twin turbo setup? =)

The number of mufflers generally don't determine the number of turbos. It may in a remote turbo system. A twin turbo system uses each exhaust manifold in a V6 or V8 enigine. A twin system such as on a Supra uses a custom manifold made to house two turbos since the Supra has one exhaust manifold.

Are they insane?!?!?! tuning for 1500?! you can purchase an EU+wideband and tune your self for that much, or even take it to a shop and have it tuned after buying the EU+wideband and still not even be close to 1500.

Install and fabrication for 3000? I only spent $215 on welding and all the piping to do my rear mount setup.

Brand new turbo would prob go for about $700 i guess, scavange pump for oil $150, BOV $200, Wastegate $200. Misc parts add another $210. thats only
$1460 plus the welding and piping that i did, thats total of 1675. Thats how much i spent on my project. These people are asking to do the whole project for 2995 + 3000 + 1500 = $7,495. Im sorry but you can tell STS to

for $7495 you can do a traditional front mount turbo setup and still have a **** load of money left over.

yes im pushing thru the maf, but thats not a problem at all. alot of front mount turbo guys on here push thru the maf. (im on the stock 3.0 maf too). and as far as front mount vs. rear mount. i can guarantee it wont be a huge difference at all. my friend had this same turbo mounted on his car (traditional front mount way) and he showed full boost at the same RPM i show full boost.
