No. The original grill "snapped in" at the bottom, but the new one just had some metal "leads" that I hooked around. The top snaps in snug, so I think that it's secure enough without glueing the bottom. I DID spray paint the hardware behind the grill black, so nothing shows through.

Thanks!!! The Active Tuning site has an SE-R Altima with the same grill that looks tough, which is where I got the idea of putting the Nismo badge on the bottom right (in place of the SE-R badge). I noticed later the my grill looks an AWEFUL like Chermax's (except black). But hey, his grill ROCKS too and nice is nice!

It would be cool if there were a similar bumper as the SE-R in the picture for the Maxima. I still think the stock bumper and "lip" looks a bit wimpy, like a Murano or something!

Hay! What's up guys? It's pretty ironic that you mention fabricating a redline type grille, well that time is now. I'm currently designing a grille similar to the CTS-V & CTS-R sports model type grilles. I'll post pics of the beginning fiberglass process tomorrow for you guys, but in the mean time view the "NEW" painted black CTS grill that my maxima has on it now below.

Everything custom that is being perform on my maxima is strictly for hobby, but if the grill idea really catches everyones attention I'll consider definitely doing something big with the design.

Does anyone know who manufactured RLM grilles? Anyone? How is Brian (Cattman) doing with his design, when he was asking around everyone told him to do it close to RLM/AT.

Brian, are you there????

I think that it's great looking too and now I see the difference between it and the Active Tuning grill. But, is it really THAT different, especially when compared to the billet grills we normally see and that hideous "Jaws of Death" grill prominently featured on some of the other (millions it seems) grill threads?

Besides, you can't even SEE our grills through the rear view mirror if we've done our other mods correctly, right?

RLM is much better looking due to the thiner frame and little tooth at the top. It really fits in because the tooth has that flow with the creases on the hood. I guess I'll order AT and when somebody comes up with something similar to RLM or perhaps even takes it up a norch I'll just sell it then. My grill is peeling like hell, so I kind of don't have a choice.

I'm in the market to replace my stock grille, and I think I found the one I'm looking for on this car. That grille is sweet! I hate to be a copy-cat, but man...I'm loving this grille.

Chernmax,

How about some high detail on your grill? You have some great pics, but I can't see the detail that Xoomer is talking about.

Thanks!

Cattman is talking about a grill (and lower piece) that he's putting in development over in the Cattman exhaust thread. Sounds like a black billet one. I'll ask him to move his discussion over here.

Seems like everyone just ignored this lol, Presence your work is great if you could make a grille the same or better than the RLM grille you can def count me in for one, and im pretty sure alot of others would be down for that too.

They look SWEET and I will most likely be getting this one after my brakes are done, but I dont want to have to clean it every day because it turns into the Dice-O-Matic 4000 with bugs.

I did some work to my E&G- filed the center bar out, sanded thru the clearcoat and used some Duplicolor Charcoal Metallic paint in an effort to match K-11(Smoke). I also painted my stock grille flat black- it's not bad with the emblem. I'll switch soon and post pics.

It's really not hard to do. You can use all hand tools too.
