Tire Pressure Monitor

I need a little help. I was on the road traveling when I got a nail in my pass rear tire. I had a service station fix it by putting a patch on the inside. Anyhow, my tire sensor light is not turning off. Is there a reset somewhere or did the service station do something incorrect? I called the dealership where I bought it and they said it should go off in a few miles but alas it has not.

I have an 2007 SE w/ 18 inchers.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks
Joe

Did you actually check that the correct pressure is in the tire?

Does the light flash for a full minute, then come on steady? That's a malfunction indication and probably means the tire shop damaged the sensor/transmitter when they demounted the tire. Did they replace the original valve core with another they found laying on the floor? Its a special valve core for the TPMS sensors - the whole valve & stem is part of the antenna system.

Dealership already changed one of my sensors (long story - just be careful with the valve stems when you add air - they are very fragile) and the malfunction indicator has been on since. Its less annoying than dealing with the service department. Now that I have to go back for the steering lock recall I guess I'll have them look at it.

There will soon be a recall on all of nissan's tire pressure monitoring systems, because every car that I've heard of (altima, maxima, versa, sentra, and even the titan) are having problems with them....On NICO, pretty much everybody on there with a versa has had the infamous light turn on (like you said, it blinks when you first start the car for a minute then goes solid) including my friend. They've had reset procedures, replaced sensors, etc. but so far the problem hasn't been fixed. I guess you just have to put up with that light until Nissan does something about it!
