probably not much help, but you can calculate it using RPMs, tire diameter, and gear ratios..... other than that, I don't know except for my rough guess from driving.

Since my ECU is reflashed, I have 7100 rpm redline, so mine is probably as follows:

1............7,100........41
2............7,100........66
3............7,100........92
4............7,100........121
5............7,100........150 (NOT governed)
6............?????........160 (I have heard this is upper limit)

And by the way, the sound of a VQ screaming at 7,100 is quite fabulous!!!

Speedometers are notorious for being off at those speeds.

I wish I got a 6 speed, I love my car but so many times I dream of shifting the gears, sometimes I wonder how complicated a manual swap would be

Probably more complicated than its worth, when all is said and done.

Can it take being revved at 7100, that just doesnt sound safe...And another question, Are there any real benefits from this???

The VQ's peak horsepower happens at an RPM before red-line. So going to read-line actually reduces vehicle performance versus shifting at peak HP.

There are a few VQ's on here that make good power beyond stock rev limit.

Also, there are articles out there stating what RPM's are optimal for maximum performance. Usually it's 300-500 RPM past peak HP, depending on gear ratios and power curve. http://www.bits.nl/re/shiftlight/sl-shiftpoint.htm

Theoretically, on unloaded tires, these are the speeds.

1............7100........43.3
2............7100........70.2
3............7100........98.0
4............7100........129.3
5............7100........168.6
6............7100........216.5

Wow, You're gonna need alot of road to reach 216.5 mph. =P

Those have been modded in order to exceed the power curve for the stock VQ engine.

The power curve (and also the torque curve) for stock engines are based on tests of only a few stock engines by Nissan. In fact, each VQ engine performs slightly differently from these test engines (and other stock engines). So the peak power point on any given VQ will not necessarily match the test engine's peak point. If you are a consistent racer, you need to experiment to find your VQ's actual power peak point.

Are you referring to VE?

The code name for Maxima's V-6 engines is VQ. Get with the program.

Who said anything about Efficiency? I'm talking about dino-measuerd HP and Torque for specific engines -- test engines for Nissan versus your specific VQ engine.

As a general statement, this is true. But my point is :

Trying to encourage some folks on here that their VQ has potential to make power furhter to the right side of the graph.

The Z33/V35 VQ35DE reaches 105% VE @ 5600 RPM, so, in essence, that IS what you're talking about, indirectly.

Not all Maximas have had this engine.
