Tinting Windows *Opinions Needed*

My question about tinting is, should I get front windshield tinted to (I am talking 8" front top of windshield tint), to block the sun?

I am thinking because it is a leased vehicle no, plus I haven't seen them in a while.

plus what percentage tint should I use?

I wouldn't do that but its your choice. I've seen some cars with the entire windshield tinted and it looks awesome... illegal thou.

Yeah, don't do the entire windshield, cuz i think if you get into an accident no matter if it's your fault or not, insurance will not cover....

Yeah, Don't mess with front windshield. As for the rest of the windows, I say go with 20% all around.

The top is already tinted, anything more than what it is already is unnecessary in my opinion, but its your car...

I kept it safe with 50 on the side and 35 in the rear. Anything darker and you get stopped unnecessarily.

Besides if you have a light car (silver, white) going darker than 35 all around make the car look top-heavy.

Do not mess with the windshield. It comes already tinted from the factory and can cause problems with your vision.

I also would not recommend tinting the front left and right windows too.
More and more states are passing legislation that prohibits any front tinting due to security and safety considerations with respect to law enforcement officers. These laws will be retroactive meaning that even if you have it done now, they can force you to remove the tinting later when the legislation has passed!

Even limos will require that the driver be easily visible at all times from both sides!

^^ That is why I got 50s on the side. Its not too dark and you can still see the person inside, yet gives the car that awesome look. Plus my black interior makes it look darker than it really is. Also, from reading local posts at NYCMaximas I see that alot of people traveling up to PA get stopped and ticketed all the time. 50 is very light (barely illegal, hehe if there is such thing) and most cops won't even stop you

BTW If you wanted to see the difference between 50% tints and no tints here is a picture. The silver max has 50% on the sides the blue one doesn have any...look at the sky throught the window.

no need for explanation here. He can explain it to the insurance company and police officer.

Keep the privacy in the back. We don't want to see any unnecessary booty shots. LOL

You should state that when recommending something SO illegal. to the general public. You know better than that. Average Joe will get a ticket with 35 all around.

My question is this- Do we have a fog light adjuster for the light beam , like we do to adjust the headlight beam ?

Its not only NY, there is like 7 states with the same limits and it will only get tougher. Here is a link that might help.

not 100% sure, but I would have to say no. No, because when installing the fog-lights I saw nothing near the housing that may have been adjustable, but i'm sure with some creativity you could make something up!

Check out www.tintcenter.com for state laws. I have 50% for VA but PA requires 70%. I guess I will pull my window down quickly if I get pulled over in PA. And my 50% is on top of the OEM tint so I probably really have 40% or even less.
