need some help

I noticed today that when I hit the accelerator and release I get a vibrating/clicking sound for a couple seconds within the engine bay. I don't know how long its been going on since I always have my radio on, but the only thing I can think of is a loose belt that needs tightening???

I am about to hit my 60k mark. This was going to lead to my second question, I am going to get a sceduled maintenance and was wondering if it is something I can fix or should I have the dealer do it?

Does the vibrating sound happen constantly or is it only while accellerating? Because I am having a vibration that I think might be a loose heat shield, but it only happens at roughly ~2200-2500 rpm when I'm accellerating. If you have a warranty still in effect I would suggest just bring it to the dealer, but if not I'd wait for some more input like I'm doing (even though I have a full warranty to 100k).

Its not a constant vibration, just after a punch to the accelerator and then release then I get the vibration for a couple seconds

Correct, however there is also a possibility of a cracked shield which rubs when your engine rev's, if true this will not hurt your engine, just annoy you with the sound until you get it fixed. There is a TSB on this if the heat shield is the problem. I would suspect if it were a true internal engine sound (problem), you would have gotten a check engine light warning...

You know what, I have the same problem. At first I was getting a pretty loud and annoying rattling sound like a loose heatshield when I would accelerate between 1-3k rpm's. I took it to the dealer and they told me it was my intake that it wasnt properly secure but its BS because I hed the rattle before installing it. So I put the stock intake back on to prove them wrong and I was right. So they kept it again, then they said they found a broken exhaust bracket, it got replaced under warranty. As soon as I drove away it I noticed it was still making the noise.. So I got tired of it and took it to another dealer which told me that it was a bent heat shield that was touching my exhaust and that it wasnt covered under warranty because I damaged it while botoming out which was also Bs. I got charged $97 to have the heatshield bent back, 1 day later the sound comes back so now Im F-ing furious. I called the service manager and told him basically he raped me for $97 for nothing. He told me to bring it back and that he would take care of it. Now one week later the rattling sound went away BUT now I can hear an exhaust leak which tells me that something was cracked all along. What do you guys think it is?

I took a second to try to find a source to the noise, it was coming from the drivers side of the engine. i took the vanity cover off the engine, but couldn't see anything loose, I hope it isn't something internal.

The heat shield or bracket that may be suspect are under the car to the right of the tranny. Not visable from looking down through the engine compartment. If this is the cause, there is a TSB for corrective action that the stealership can fix...
