I'm running an Aopen mini pc with the Road Runner front end. Internet is provided by a wireless EVDO card (thing is sweet) I use it to stream music and videos. I've had this set up since last January but once you install one of these you are constantly upgrading software (part of the fun)

The screen is a 7" Lilliput Touchschreen. I'll be swapping it out soon for one that has autoflip (rear camera use). When I put the car in reverse it will automatically switch my screen to the backup camera. Xenarc have this feature but I'm not convinced just yet

Only a limit of 5 per post. You could have kept these all in one thread.

BTW, car looks good.

Do you have the stock hu? Is the carputer viewable on the headrest monitors? If so how did you spilt the signal, what type of video card are you using?

I have an aftermarket HU that also plays DVD's connected to the headrest. I was using one of the (Averkey 300 pc to tv adaptor) but I wasn't to happy with the picture so I took it out. Once I install the leather I plan to swap out these headrest monitors for some with VGA input.

I have about $1300 invested in the pc but considering everything it does it's well worth it. I had the car at the dealership to replace the chrome roof trim and all the techs were around the car playing with the pc.

I think I saved alot of money by doing everything myself. Couldn't justify spending alot on an install and having to depend on someone else to fix any issues that may come up in the future.

I have the pc connected to the car with 3 cables (power, vga and usb) so i can disconnect it and bring into the house for upgrades or any other reason

Unmatched..you can split a vga signal several times. What motherboard are you running? Mini atx? Give me your specs and i can help you with the rest of it. I hope!.LOL!
I have five screens in/on the car and all of them display my carputer stuff.

Maxchef, Are all your screens VGA? if so that's an easy split. The issue that comes into play is when your converting and splitting VGA to S-video or RCA. There is severe loss of image quality.

Two of the five are.....the one under the hood and the two in the trunk are not.....standard Video input only. But there are ways around resolution loss....S-video should not offer any resolution loss but the RCA will. Now if you take a video amplifier to the other screens using RCA it improves the image drastically......not as good as VGA but there is a noteable difference. Another way is to upgrade your video card....i wont even begin with that topic in fear it may confuse people some.....but i know for sure that the video amplifiers work with just some plug and play effort.
