Would this wheel/tire combo work?

I want to get the ADR M-Sport in a 19x8.5 size with a +35 offset. I think typically they take 245 wide tire, but I was wondering if I can squeeze a 255/40/19 tire on it. Chern was able to put 255s on his 18x8 +35 offset, so surely an 8.5 inch wide wheel can accomodate 255s right? just wanna make sure, I wanna put as wide a tire as i can without having to go too big on the rims.

Thanks.

I had 255/40/19's on my Axis Hagens. They were 8.5 wide. No rub.

IMO you'll have more than enough clearance even if lowered. On another note, if you must go bigger, maybe go with 20's, I have price compared and you can actually buy 20's somewhat cheaper because 19"s tend to be an odd size and 19" tires cost more or about the same as 20's. Your call but at least price compare, why not get more bang for the buck...

There's no way im going with 20s, its just too big for me. It's either 18s or 19s. I just like the way 19s look, 18 has a bit too much rubber. I'm more of a tuner than for looks only, just like you chern =). I saw your 18s with 255s and was amazed, it's just a tiny bit too much rubber, so i think 19s would be best, to me that is. As for prices, I can get the 19x8.5 ADR M-sport for $192 each, shipped. for tires, I'm probably going with BFG KDWs, they're the best for the price. I wanted the Toyo T1R but the least expensive i've seen it is about 220 each.

Here's the link for the ADRs if anyones interested: http://www.nfcperformance.com/msport...le-p-5372.html

Look into the Nitto 555 RedLines also, new ultra high performance tire and priced about the same as BFG, those were my second choice...

Thanks for the props though...

Those wheels do look hot. Throw some pics when you install them.

As for the ADR's, I had M-Classics on my car originally and they were nothing but trouble. The clearcoat started to peel and they weren't friendly to deal with, just MPO but thought I'd share (price may be really good but just look around a bit)

ADR M-Sport are really awesome rims. JiuJitsuThug had them on his max when he still had it and they were awesome looking rims. Good choice.

As for the tires, yes they will def fit. 255 width over 8.5 rim will give you slightly better profile then chernmax ( nothing negative intended ) got on his because the sidewall will be pushed out a bit more giving you less flex and better handling.
