anyone know if those would also fit the Max, and what kind of quality the whole thing is?

dunno how their quality has improved over the years but a while back [honda days] a lot of the obx turbo manifolds would crack under heat/pressure and that the welds were ****ty. they always had attractive prices though. ~100$ more than the CE ypipe and you get a ypipe in the package.

hmm.. the hotshot headers were for the SE-R, right? the SE-R had a 6-speed tranny, right? does that mean the hotshot headers didn't work on the 3.5 SE with the 5-speed? if not, I'm guessing the transmission interferes on our cars...

but I'm just brainstorming and could be way off.

There are some quality issues with Ebay headers. Best to wait for Cattman's system. The welds on those headers look rusty(?).

No the issue was the y-pipe the 4sp auto and 6sp manual had a diff y-pipe. However if u get a set of maxima alti se/r headers, they will fit all maximas because the y-pipe comes with them.

As to the headers, who care bout welds, if u dont trust the weld get a local shop to add some tig weld to them, cut the end of the y-pipe add a Brian Catts Fast cat on the there, two o2 extensions and bugs. AND BOOM!!! You got 20HP.

not sure if I like that design very much....They're not equal length, they have really short runners (not good for top end), and look at the huge crimp in the y-pipe...the OBX design for the 4th-5th gens is much better...I'd wait for cattman's if it were me.

The first and second pic are different designs. OBX changed there headers, the second pic (ebay) is the old design. The first pics is a "new" design, I've seen an upclose pic and they look identical to hotshots.

i was also looking into these headers. I just want to see a dyno chart from them. I tried logging onto the obx website but its down. I pmed brian cattman about the headers a few months ago and he said it will probably be around midsummer when the headers are in the market.

Best time was 13.9, however normally 14-14.1 depending on track conditions...

I'm swapping out my CAI so I need to get another Dyno run done to tune my Apexi...

Well my friends I found a shop out here in NY (Kook Headers) and Friday I have an appt with them on some custom headers for the Max. I mentioned that there is a high demand for these for the 6th Gens and we are to discuss this whole issue tomorrow and also maybe a possible mass production for us since Hotshot is closed. He noted the following during our Telcon:
- He can custon make Drag headers (Does that mean more power???)
- All headers are backed by 1 year warranty. (No COC w/ shipment)
- Very Illegal (Like we care lol)

Well anyways thought you all might like to know this. Any other questions that anyone think I should ask just post cause I will check this before I leave on Friday. Also how the heck does everyone put photos on there posts?

Drag headers eh?

Make sure they pay attention to tuning them correctly, i.e. with respect to the VQ35, runner length, port dia, collector design. etc.

You mean these guys?

http://kookscustomheaders.com/

If so, that's good news. Kooks is practically legendary for header products with the muscle car crowd. When I had my 450+rwhp Camaro SS I knew quite a few guys that ran Kooks race headers on their rides (I ran QP headers myself). Kooks isn't so much about legal headers, i.e. most likely there will be NO cats on anything they produce, which means you'll never pass inspection with Kooks headers. It'll also mean an extremely loud and raspy exhaust on the VQ35's FYI. Great products though.

Yeah but I don't see not one import or FWD header application on their site. Good luck though.
