Painted engine cover ideas

Painted engine cover ideas

I was going to continue in the Kinetix thread, but I realized that anyone can benefit from painting the engone cover. I wanted to bring my engine cover up to standards considering I have that beautiful Kinetix intake manifold.

With that said, I am looking for ideas for painting my engine cover. It looks much better trimmed around the Kinetix manifold, but I think it can be dressed up to look even better. My idea is to bring in the black with red trim scheme I have with my rims and grill. I am fairly certain I at least want to get rid of the big ugly "Nissan" logo and fill i n the indentation.

def could use some other red accents.

For u, i say as minial red as possible.

Maybe red following the lines, and around the letters.

And the rest high glossy black.

Remove the Burger, color match the engine cover to your car and add a red pin stripe around the edge...

Black cover to match the car,
paint the "V6 & 3.5" red,
leave the burger chrome but fill in the grooves in "NISSAN" with red [in the burger]

i think that is some star trek crap..... anyways..... i like the red outline.... put a monitor in there too.... Doesnt Jsmith have a monitor in his cover???

Let the farce be with right? Oh wait . . . wrong space show. Anyway I cant imagine a monitor taking that much heat. I was thinking of a Nismo logo instead.

I'd say.... stick with the main lines, skip that lil left and right piece.

I'd also glossy black it all, but go around the letters wid red, i'll see if i can chop it up!

I took mine to a guy named Joe Kerner who custom paints motorcycle's and just about everything else. If you want, the guy who did mine has a web site and you can mail everything to him and he'll do the rest, he's the one who also did Ramberg's Punisher engine cover. IMO, it would be easier to find a local you can work with for minor detail...

Though about having it chromed. That's another good idea. Ill have to mull it all over. Keep the ideas coming. Photoshop anyone??

NAgh.... not aLL of it... u could have it Chrome painted...should be WAY cheaper

No chrome, that would take away from the look of the intake. I'd do a Nismo oil filler cap and eliminate the logo and 3.5. Paint it black.

I'm 1000% against the chrome, what brings out the beauty is color contrast, not chroming everything JMHO...

Dude, powder coating gets baked in an oven thats way to hot for a plastic cover.

I'd just resin Carbon Fiber to it....

Not sure if the vinyl Pronto suggest would hold up.

Please don't airbrush that pic of that dude on your cover!!! That would not flow with your car at all. I am all about being creative but you must remember you have a nice theme going with the car now. Some times less is more. I like the CF idea. I would go as far as blk&red CF. all you have to do is lay it then resin. Heck send me the materials and I will do it for you.
