18 inch MBwheels "Drifter" .... finally on !

well after ALL the problems trying to find rims in time, i finally found some. Check other threads if u need the full story..

Anyway, here are some pics..

2 things right off the bat... I KNOW IT NEEDS TO BE LOWERED HAHAHA. Im going to be getting some springs in the next few weeks... Second thing... The front fender... Its going into the shop next week for 3 days to be fixed..

now that thats all out of the way... Specs..

18x7.5 MB Drifters Black w/ a polished lip ... purchased from americas tire co. here in so cal.

I paid $818.83 out the door for these rims and a set of 235/40/18 Z rated Kuhmo Ecstas. Ive had ecstas before and if u maintain them they will go out 35-40. Next set of tires i get will be 255/45/18...

I know not everyone is going to like these but i thought they went real well with my exterior mods.... Limo tint... Charcoal Grey Paint..Tinted Tails...

They are black w/ a polished lip ...

Enjoy

Rad body mod, are you going to do the same to the right side? Rims offset it nicely.

I'm not a big fan of black rims. This is the first combo I've seen that I actually like. Looks very good! Oh, and I had the same kind of damage to my passenger side fender and wheel well in almost the exact spots as you, last week. Getting it out of the shop, tomorrow. Driving a rental really blows after driving a Max on a daily basis.

I have a question. Why would you put 18x7.5's on your car when stocks are 18x8.5? It makes the car look like a civic. I am a big fan of the color combo. Man I wish I could know you where looking for wheels. for an extra 300 bucks I would have sold you my 20 inch Zenetti thowbacks in black with a chrome lip. Oh well. I guess you could always put some spacers on them so they don't look so sunk in.

yea man, and no offense, but sorry to say they definately look tiny on your car. If you gonna go with 18's, then I definately would not have gotten a lip because it makes the rims look like 16's, and second I would have gotten a tire with a bigger sidewall to fill up the space more and make them look less like donuts.

I actually like it. After a drop it will look even better. I like the color combo as well. Once you drop her and get that fender fixed, you should be set.

Offset is wrong, looks horrible. Get some spacers or something to move the wheels out a bit, if you like the style. Personally, I think your car looked a LOT better in your sig than it does now.

Nope. I have a 5 speed Twin Turbo Z for when I want to go fast. I have a loaded 07 Maxima to drive daily, where comfort and convenience is key. Personally, I love the CVT.

I'm just very picky, I'm not against mods at all. Wheels with the wrong offset appear to be sunken in. You see it commonly on 94-04 Mustangs. It drives me nuts.

I call em like I see em, and I think your car looked way better with stock wheels, but if you're happy, that's all that matters, right? If you come here and post pics and ask for opinions, prepare to get them. Good and bad.

the Z doesn't have Heated Seats/Steering wheel, HID, Satellite Radio, Intelligent Key, and Bose. It is strictly for go fast. Max is my cruiser

For some reason they look much smaller than mine which are 18" as well, but 18x8.5...I think the reason they look so little is that they are recessed into the fender too much, mine sort of stick out and it looks better that way. I have a +35 offset, what are those? I think it also goes to show if you want to go with 18" in this style rim you have to go wider, the combination of offset and width makes the wheel fit the car much better

FastMax, just get some ICHIBA spacers 10-15MM and you'll be set. I have 10mm up front to even out the staggered setup and I love how they are even with the fenders. Do it after you lower the car to see how far you can go. I'd say you are safe with 10mm but 15mm would proly be even better in your case.

Reminds me of when I bought my 19's... Bought them from a friend who had them on an Accord. 225/35's. Looked like shYt. Why, why, why would you not at least put the stock tires on? I agree, it looked much better w/stockers... Sorry bro. Smaller tires do nothing for you. Even though your going to drop it, it will still have a 4x4 gap. Wow...

Check these out...

Im almost embaressed to post these. I will say they lasted 2 days...

To you guys who think "adding spacers" solves everything be carefull. Have you ever noticed how much stud bolt is left after installing spacers? Unless your going with the stud-in spacers, the cheap disk spacer leaves under half stud once the wheel is mounted.
