Parts Help

Ok well I go out to a stony brook party, All is well till I get back and see my mirror hanging from its cable, Anyways just needed to vent but now the hard part, Fixing it. I don't want to put any glue or anything cheap like that so I went and spoke to a body shop guy, Now they tell me that I am going to have to change the whole mirror housing rather then the piece that is broken and also get the mirror painted. He said according to Nissan the housing costs 218 the paint is 50 and then he will figure out installation. So I wanted to know do I really have to change the whole housing or is it just the plastic I can replace. Also do those prices seem right? I have provided pics below, Thanks a lot in advance for your help guys.

Also if any of you are in the NY, Long Island area and can tackle this job, Please let me know. Id rather see my money go to someone here rather then a shop.

yaup, those prices seem accurate since my buddy with a 97' Maxima was quoted $300 for a side mirror...and it was a plastic one, not painted lol, so you're getting the better deal!

try www.car-parts.com to see if there are any salvaged mirrors

Did you check the 6th gen for sale section? There might be one there -- not sure, but maybe worth a look.
