To splash guard or no?

I have been pondering if I should or not install splash guards on my Max. I have seen some of you riding on 20's (like me) who kept the splash guards and it looks good.

Do you think I should install them?
Also, could anyone do a quick photoshop for me?

I think they look good. If you lowered they do scrape the ground sometimes. When they do hit I know to be careful until I'm back on the main roads.

They also serve the purpose of obviously protecting your rear bumper and front side skirts from all the elements they encounter every day and they reduce the "layer of dust" build up between washes! I'm very **** about that and the before/after on my rear bumper when I didn't have my splash guards and then put them on was amazing!

Truth is I hate splash guards...until I saw them on Maxima's (and G35's) and they actually look good, these were designed just right, look perfect on our cars.

And with the rainy season upon us here in South Florida, it should help us somewhat when we clean our cars....or so we hope

They look nice kind of complete the look of the vehicle. YES, its possible to crape them especially coming off of sharp curbs. I lost one in the rear (already replaced as they come color-matched from the dealer) when I drove over piece of tire on the highway.

Thanks to all of your opinions bought and installed the splash guards today. $99.00 for four pieces of plastics... unreal.

Anyways, you guys were right, it makes the car looks more aggressive/sharper. I will post some pics after the 07 spoiler is installed next week.....

Oh no, not 2-DIE-4 again
If I am not mistaken you're that guy that bought those wheels that no one on the org liked it!
Oh, yeah, I remember.
I mean, how could I forget. After all, those wheels you bought for $1,500. or something were simply abominable

Let me ask this - why don't you buy these wheels for $500? and replace the ones you have now?
Trust me, I think a lot people would agree it would be a wise move....
Just take a look at them (http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....25#post5695825)

No, here it is:

I don't mod my car for the org, I do what I do for me.

If you would have added another $100.00 to the cost of what you paid for those splash guards, you could have bought another set of BSA's.

Noooooo man, go ahead and post pre-spoiler with splash guards and then post-spoiler. That's the way we like it around here.

FYI, I'd pick your rims anytime...

WOW! $700.00? they really seen you coming huh? I paid less than $300.00 for my '07 spoiler SHIPPED & color-matched (pics coming soon). Also bought a Kenwood KVT-815DVD/NAVI for the Max as well for a hella good price. Not to mention 19s for the '96 M3, 22's for the '04 ML500 and got the '96 CBR900RR rims powder-coated & polished (getting ready for summer). It's kind of tuff striving to mod 3 cars and a bike at once. But then again, it's tuff being me.

Well, lets do some math
$155.00 07 spoiler
$385.00 Remove 04-06 spoiler, patch up the three holes, repaint trunk and install new spoiler
$170.00 Rental car -- 4 days

Sorry I lied. I said $700.
It is actually $710......

Holly crap 2-DIE-4.
I just noticed the years of the cars: 1996 M3 and 1996 CBR?
Are you running a museum or a scrap yard up in Jersey?

Also, time to upgrade that M3, don't you think? King?

Lets see: '96 M3 & '96 CBR 900RR. 1996 was a great year for me. 18yrs. old and gettin' it (money). Needed something to remind me of that summer. What was poppin' that summer was the M3 (which I own) and the 900RR. Not to mention one of the better/best built E36 M3 motors came out that year. '96 RR came with one of the best color combo of the RR series (white/purple/green/black.....only sold for 1yr). So I bought both as a matching set. Purple (techno-violet) M3 and white/purple bike. Oh! And like I said in a prior post: The M3 is some-what of a daily, but not really.....A.K.A. "BEATER CAR". A beater that I just bought 19s for.

Upgrade? You went from a BMW to a Nissan (no disrespect to any of the other Nissan owners including my-self).
Lets see me: 1996 BMW M3 to 2004 Benz ML500 (still own both). Wanted another car, test drove and wanted a 2006 Magnum, but went/fell in love with the Max. You're renting a car for Goodness' sakes and have $289.00 wheels off of eBay, and you're telling me to upgrade. Look in the mirror, and SLAP YOURSELF!!! I don't rent cars MY FRIEND, I own them. I don't punch clocks MY FRIEND, I own them. I don't wait until next week, I get the next day.

Anyway, enough of this, it's childish. When you are able to upgrade your wallet, stand on it, and become taller than your wife, come see me. Until then, tell the CSR @ Avis I said peace.

***upgrade? what's higher than #1***

Will have a carbon-copy of this by July 4th. Will name her: "Purple-Haze". Now that's one hell of a beater!

2-DIE-4, my grandfather has a saying that dogs that bark usually they don't bite. Case and point? By looking around the forum in your posts you are going around saying you are Donald Trump and Bill Gates combined into one. Which is great. Don't get me wrong. I really do like to see other people do well too.

But most of the people that really have $$$ don't go around advertising they have it. It's the opposite... they stay quiet and let other people make their own conclusion

Take a look this (http://www.skylineforums.org/forums/...read.php?t=64).
Now, of course I don't expect you to believe me, so please, feel free to call Alex @ Maroone and tell him the guy with the red Maxima sent you and while you are at it bring about $20k so you too can be on the waiting list!

Look, I'm going to end this little feud. It's very childish, and all started over your Ghetto-Superstar comment (go back and take a look) in-which I took offence to (being that I come, or came from the hood), and there for became defensive. Sparking my BSA wheel comment and so-on. But for the record, wasn't advertising, but showing/proving a point. Meaning: I call it how I see it, and talk it like I be it. Period! And I of all people know that money means nothing, with-out moral character. Sooo..... With that being said.... Alex @ Maroone, $20k, waiting list, GSR's, AR-15's, GTR's, GSXR's or hundred-thousand dollar cars means nothing. Money ain't sh.it, but respect is everything (just a lil' saying we have in the hood)!

Anyway,....... take care, be safe and God speed. Peace!

How did we go from asking about splash gurads to verbal assaults and rims and who has more money and toys in their garage? If you have a beef with someone send him an IM to explain yourself, no need to come on THIS thread and start firing bombs. Grow up for Christ sake.

Agreed 100%. These chat boards are supposed to be educational and fun. The personal stuff doesn't help anybody.

Its all good guys, you both have nice cars, both have money and all, God bless you.

Lets move on and concentrate on new ideas. Oh and once again for those who don't have splash guards, I recommend you get them. Makes the car look complete and as somebody noticed, makes it look lowered.

Wow, that was nasty fast!

I am lowered on Progress. I did catch my splash guards, but only if I backed into my driveway/garage, and then pulled out. That is because the front tires drop off the curb going out of the drive way, bringing down the guards, right on the concrete. Same when I go over speed bumps. Frotn tires going down means setting the guards on the ground and dragging them over the humps.

Not that I am lowered, I have only caught those on speed bumps, I haven't even attempted to back into my driveway. Must try today.

I do think that the guards dress up the car a bit. Even with the cheese grated effects, I left them on, although I debated removing them.
