it'd look like you have muddin' tires on a maxima if you went with 16's.... 'course, they won't clear the brakes like someone said already..

You would need altima 11.7" brakes to fit under the 16" rim. If thats the case, sell your Maxima, get the hell out of maxima.org and swim on to the altima side of the nissan world.

Am I the only other "performance mod" type of guy in here?!

16's would=massive weight reduction but ya, they would definitely not fit, so you may as well go with some sort of light-weight 17's

LOL at some of the replies.

I will have to buy winter tires for the upcoming winter and I wanted to get a set of rims for them too. I figured the smaller the cheaper, which is why I was asking. Obviously I won't be buying them now, but I wanted to know what size fits so I can calculate it in my budget for the future.

I am in the same boat right now, 16" winter tires are $100 each as opposed to 18" winter tires which are $260 each. Simple economics. Winter rims get trashed with salt and gravel, why buy an additional set of 18" rims and 18" winter tires only for them to get pitted and ruined. When it comes to winters smaller = cheaper = more money for other mods.

So I'll ask again just to make sure... the smallest you can go is 17"???
