Need help diagnosing a problem

Basically my engine doesn't have a smooth acceleration, its on and off when I accelerate. I don't know how else to describe it. I took it to the dealer when I had a 60k service, but they couldn't find anything wrong with it, but it did go away. Now it is back. Does anyone have any answers or experienced the same problem???

You did not say how many miles you have on your 04 -- that may help diagnose this problem.

When my 04 was new (with about 8 K miles on her), I had a short drive that was very rough and the VQ was hard to keep running. After stopping for a few minutes (we were shopping), the problem was gone when we came back. It has never come back in about 57 K miles of driving.

The on-board computer should keep stored the codes for what may be going wrong with your VQ. Did the dealer check for codes when you brought it in the first time? If not, you were robbed -- get him to check.
