New Rotorpro Drill/Slotted disc with EBC "red stuff" ceramic brake pads.

Special thanks to Deus for finding the source for my new brake rotors.

Anyway after seeing the rear rotors Deus slapped on his car I decided to order a set of the RotorPro Disc with red painted centers to offset the black look of the rims. At the same time I installed a set of EBC "Red Stuff" ceramic brake pads. I currently breaking them in and I really like the pro look of them. OK the pictures...

Nice brakes and rotors. How is the sound when stopping. Im just wondering how many people are going to chime in on having drilled and slotted (the whole controversy). I like them and if this guy stands by his warranty than they are legit.

So far pretty quiet, I'm still breaking them in though...

Thanks for playing, but I think NOT!!! The disc boxes were marked as to which wheel they went to and they are going in the same direction that I had on my car for over 2 years with my last set!!!

Well if you consider $30 for the centers painted, $45 shipping, and $120 installation, I'm down about $344.00 bucks...

My last set was close to the same price and they lasted for well over 2 years with zero problems, the reason I changed them is for the painted centers. In hindsight, you may be paying too much for your parts!!!

Chern: Looks GREAT!! Offsets ur black rims very nicely and goes with the Red Op!!! Even though I only got the rears, I flogged them and my brakes did not fade one bit.

Hey Chern

What about tons of folks saying that drilled rotors are not good for daily driving? Because my Max is my only car for now. So if I purchased drilled/Slotted, will I be expecting to replacing them in 2 years cause of cracking and all that stuff people say?

I have the same rotors that Chris just took off and had them for about the same time as his. I just changed the Hawk pads and they are still looking good. I do alot of daily driving and do a couple of trips to Florida a year.

Chris does research on parts before he would put them on his ride.

They look hot my friend.

Hey and I kept the old rotors set I took off as a backup because their still in excellent shape. I've heard nothing but good things about these rotors and they look great on the car, price is a bonus...

My ride is a daily driver and the last set I had worked flawlessly for 2+ years and 22K miles. I'm also keeping them as emergency spares. Last, the only threads I have seen about damaged rotors on this forum have been about OEM rotors warping.

I am pretty sure they are pointing the wrong way. Usually they face the opposite direction from what you have them at. Do you have a pic of the vents(middle of rotor)?

Regular rotors also crack. With the web, people are reporting one event and not the other. I suspect that cheap rotors (read imports) may have a higher incidence of cracking that quality rotors. They probably don't even meet OEM specifications. Then they drill holes in them.

I asked myself the same question before I got mine, searched the web and came to the conclusion that the problem was overblown. Parts are parts and some will fail.

I agree, some said the same about my last set and they had zero problems, If these don't work out, I'll change them, however right now I'm very happy with the look, quality, and tie in for my ride...

All I can say is I'll keep everyone posted...

No need to keep me posted, those are my next rotors, can't beat the price + quality = reliability. More than one member has posted on these rotors, many years and miles of reliability, that speaks VOLUMES.

One question Chern, where did you get the ceramic pads and how much for them?

One more, where did you get your grille and also, how much?

The brake pads cost me about $138.00 for all. They are the EBC "red Stuff". The grill is from ActiveTuning.com they are my sponsor and hands down make an awesome grill for the 6th Gen Max. Visit there web site at: http://www.activetuning.com

Yeah Chirs's rotors dont have uni directional vanes, they are omni directional so in effect it doesnt matter what side they are put on..... but i would still have my slots sweeping not cutting. Each person will choose their own setup though.

How do the Red Stuff pads compare to the Hawk HPS? Also, what do you torque the calipers to when re-installing them?

I'm still in the break in phase for my Red Stuff and so far the pads and rotors are breaking in nicely together, I've noticed minimum dist and the Red Stuff are smoothing the rotors to almost a beautiful mirror finish.

He's the 411 on the EBC Red Stuff:

Thanks for the info Chern. I'm going to be changing the rotors, pads and lines in the next week or so. Think I'm going to go the same route as you with the rotors (I've got a Liquid Silver; so may coat the centers black) and go with the EBC's.
