heem - I'm no AC expert, but it sounds as if one of the baffles or diverters used to allow the passenger and driver to receive air at different temps might be stuck.

I wouldn't worry too much about the rear, as the 6th gen Maxima does not deliver much cold air to the rear - the duct is not very big, and is not insulated, so the air travelling through it tends to 'warm up' on its way to the rear.

But if you have the AC temperature setting for the passenger side the same as for the driver side, the air should be the same temperature on both sides. I would suspect that, unless you are big on digging into auto dashes (I'm certainly not), or know a very good shade tree mechanic, you may have to rekindle your flickering relationship with your dealer. Sorry.

My brother is having a similar issue with his Bimmer. A buddy of mine who is a HVAC expert told me to check the refrig. level first as it may not be charged enough to pass across the far side of the coil keeping the one side much warmer. His cold side isn't really that cold either so I'm hoping it's just a charge issue. Otherwise, the mixer/damper was the next thought. But I won't be ripping his dash apart if so the case. Nissan dash yes, BMW, not so much..LOL. Let us know what you come up with.

Multiple users have reported cracked low pressure hose but you said its cold on one side so the poster above (#4) might be on point.

I had the dealer replace the hose after replacing the compressor weeks prior. (all free under warranty).

Well, I am not an HVAC expert, but I have 35K miles on my 04 Maxima I got new, was blowing semi cold air, I ended up closing the side vents, never had the AC recharged or serviced but I remembered it being cold as heck. Has 1 can of freon added, back to cold as heck.....well, for over 100 degree heat in Burnt ******* New Mexico. Might want to look at a recharge. Not that expensive either.
