Good find. Cattman exhaust is what, $800 + install for 10-ish HP?

Yeah I still would like to get Cattman exhaust one day, but the price is a great deterrant at this point. I just looked through ebay,

2x 14862 Mufflers, $167.00 Each
1x 10435 MIDpipe, $67.00

3h @ local shop with mandrel bender. $150

$551 total installed. Hard to justify $700-800 just for some mufflers magnaflow mufflers and some piping.

well nice pick up , but i agree w/ you on worth the money...

I want to buy the cattman header system when it comes out because ill be getting a decent discount on it, but i at the same time i dont want to pay 400 or so for install...

On the other side, his Y-pipe is VERY easy to install and ive heard around 4-6 hp... and half the price or so of his upcoming header setup *Dont hold me to that*...

Ill prob just buy it and put it in the garage and hope for one of those "Gifts from god" things where someone tells you they know someon who will do it for 200...

$200 to install a y-pipe? Hell no. 15-20 minute job at a shop @ $80/hr labor or less, maybe an hour if you DIY with a couple of jack stands.

Only thing is if you do the Y pipe and or the headers, your engine will be running lean. That is bad for the engine to the point of possibly ruining it!

You will have 2 options: 1. Reprogramming your ECU (Technosquare) or
2. AFC S-SAFC programming computer.
I was contemplating this, however I decided that the Throttle body spacer is a wiser and less expensive investment. under $200 to purchase & install and way safer plus up to 10HP in gains.

Just my 2 Cents.

Did you intstall it laying on the ground? or with a lift? I dont have a lift. And I dont want to have to tow the car to a shop to get it finished cause i cant do it.

Throttle body spacer? You mean phenolic spacer? Cause i never heard of a throttle body spacer adding 10hp?

Sell them to me and dont worry about the install price.
If the price for install is too much $$$ they are yours. I cant afford the $1000 bill right now.

Didn't someone just have ebay headers installed? They looked like they were good quality for under 200 bucks too.

Man, I didnt realize how much of a pain in the **** it would be to find a cheap place to install them. FFFFAQ.

No one wants to touch them for less then 8 hours.

This great buy is turning to a great regret. Y me.

Do you know how many people would kill for those? Maybe not, but still, a hot item nonetheless.

Sell 'em to Glude

The OP has nearly made it clear that that option is out of the question.

Though a lift is not mandatory, it will make it easier. Jack stands and lotsa tools/patience, perhaps a beer or 2. It will be worth it in the end.

I think we pretty much figures that one out. (i.e. bought from a 3rd party seller)

Any word on the final verdict, i.e, you going to attempt the isntall yourself?

My uncle and I will attempt install when Nissan puts in the new motor, I asked and they didnt want to install and aftermarket part while installing the new motor (rear pre-cat fell apart like in the QR and got shucked back into the engine, nissan is doing a warranty swap).

Nissan wants me to do 3 more fuel fill ups so they can complete the oil consumption report. Once the engine is in and I get no CEL, i will be "attempting" the swap with my unlce (retired Mercedes Benz Mechanic).

If that fails, thease are getting e-bayed till I can get some funds in the future.

Kam: Watch the swap when they do it and take copious notes so that u can maybe yank the motor and install the headers. It nmight not be too hard to pull.

I think you should give orgers the first opportunity.

doing the headers w/engine in car > Pulling the engine just to do headers

Drive to Brooklyn, you can get it done for alot less. The tech did two of these header installs.

Yeah org folks would have first go on them. Hopefully nissan will agree to do it while the new engine is being dropped in.
