RaicingLine Endlinks Problem

Well, is been about a year or so since I had the car lowered (Progress) and struts/shocks changed (KYB). At that time I also had the sway bar (progress) and endlinks (racingline) replaced. I have been experiencing a problem where there was a thump (loud knock) coming from the rear suspension. I've researched around, taking to peeps at local meet, brian at catman and numerous trips to my mechanic to find out what the heck is going on. It was embarrasing driving the car and I even considered going back to stock but didn't want to loose the handling characteristics of a lowered ride.

I've heard things like broken shocks, loose shock mounts, improperly installed shocks, sway bar installed in reverse, grease the busings, tighten the rubber on the endlinks...etc, etc.

My ordeal came to an end last Saturday as my guy told me to bring back stock endlinks and RaicingLine ones were taken off. Man this think was driving me crazy and even my guy told me how the hell you drive this thing. Its quite like a new car again.

Here is the weird thing that ads to the mystery of the whole situation. My brother had the same setup installed 2 weeks later and he had no problems. Had any one experience this or is currently pulling hair trying to figure this knocking sound out. What gives?

there have been numerous thread on this recently....it is becoming common for the bushings to blow

people have been replacing them with Energy Suspension but there aren't any long term results just yet

try the racingline endlinks thread - that is on the first page....

For me it was the torned bushings that was causing the top of the endlink to rub against the frame or sway bar. After I have changed the bushings to ES, the problem went away. I drive 100 miles a week so I will know first thing if the ES bushings will hold up in the long run.

The only reaar problem with the racingline bushings was that for a while I switched suppliers and thier quality of polyurethane turned out to be poor. It had nothing to do with design, as there are altima running around with 3 year old bushings and not a single problem. The new V.2.0 endlink which will released in about 3-4 weeks time and will have a small steel insert inside the bushing to give a better mating surface when installed and to prevent any chance of over tightening or loose bushings knocking. The new bushing sets will be compatable with the old endlink design for those wanting to switch. Also I have 1 more sample to test out for the front endlinks and then they will be ready in about 5-6 weeks.

What do you think it could be? I have had a slight knocking somewhere in my rear passenger side for a long time. Yesterday I had a Progress RSB, endlinks, and rear GR-2s installed (front will be installed this next weekend), and now the knocking is a lot more noticeable. Even when I am coasting along at 5-20 mph, I can hear it after I hit the gas... or go over bumps.

I was hoping that installing new suspension would remedy the problem, but it's even more noticeable now. I did bang on some of the trim along the seat/pillar inside the car awhile ago and it helped quite a bit, but this time it doesn't appear to have helped.

Yes I will replace any torn bushings free of charge. New style bushing sets are still about 3 weeks out though. As stated before, I had a lot of bushings made up from a different supplier and it became impossible to tell them apart. As it turned out though thier product was an inferior one to my old supplier. So I have swithed back. The style bushing will have zero issues.

I am glad. You can just include them with my FSTB order whenever you are ready to ship. I picked the brushed aluminum brace with black brackets.

Thank you.

Well... seems like the noise I was having on the rear driver's side is gone now. Who knows what it is. Seems like my suspension upgrade solved it eventually.

I was planning on getting the, but the day that I planned on ordering them, TAZ put the word out that new SS end-links were coming out with better bushings, so I decided to hold off on the ES bushings.

Oh, and just as an FYI to all, the 24mm ES sway bar bushings do NOT work on the front sway bar, but I have still yet to check on the rear.

Holly ****! You didn't even have any more bushings! lol

Wow, so I think that I am most definitely going to get these now and not waste my money on the "new" end-links that are coming out due to the fact that the noise is getting worse and there have been NO updates on the new end-links.

So did all go well and no more noise from them?

Only one of the original 8 grommets were left, luckily I inspect my car often underneath because if the grommets come out, your endlinks are now loose!!! So I had to tighten them up on my last inspect until I installed the new grommets

The a$$ is now quiet again and holding TIGHT!!!

Glad to see everyone likes this upgrade. the only thing I would change on that Chern is the washer on the RSB itself. I would remove those, but still have a washer on the other side where the nut is, which I think you have. There was a little noise due to that washer. i did use a full threaded bolt as some of you may find that you run out of threads on the bolt otherwise. No issues since.
