Possible Ipod Solution for 07 Max with steering and artist info on HU...

All- I found a seller on E-Bay that is advertising that he has a solution that works with the non-Bose factory HU on the 2007 Maxima. According to his site, he advertises that the solution also displays text on the factory HU and allows control of the Ipod via the steering wheel controls. If it does work, this could be good news for many 07' Max owners looking for a solution like this. Has anyone else heard about this solution?

Here's the link to the solution on E-Bay:

wow....they have it as well for the 04-06, I wonder how well this works. I just don't understand why the price is $179 for the 2007, and $249 for the 04-06 Maxima.

Re: 2004-2006 Maximas...

I too noticed this while browsing the Seller's feedback. I found several positive feedback responses from 2004-2006 Max owners that claim that this solution worked as advertised. I've reached out to several of them toget more specifics on their experince too.... Since this is not associated with a purchase transaction from ebay per say, I doubt that I'll get a response but figured I'd try anyways... I will gladly share if I get a response from one of these users...

Update-I spoke to Bryan this evening and confirmed that the solution has only been confirmed on 2006 Maximas and not the 2007. I've agreed to purchase a unit to try out on my vehicle and Bryan agreed to refund me if the unit does not work as described. He also confirmed that late model Maximas with a RADIO or SAT button will be compatible with this solution regardless if they have a Bose System or are XM pre-wired. I should have it Wednesday and hope to have another update at that time. We also spoke about a group deal for ORG members that may be interested pending the results of my trial... Cross your fingers..

may want to change the title of this thread as probably most orgers think it's the same "control ipod through steering controls but no display". This is the one we've all been waiting for.

Update-The part arrived as promissed today and unfortunately it is not compatible with the 2007 Maxima stock HU without Bose or Sat pre-wire. I have to admit though that I was very impressed with the level of attention provided by Bryan. I started the install at 10PM CST and when I ran into trouble, Bryan was on the phone at 11PM CST! I can't say that many dealers that I've dealt with before have been willing to go above and beyond like Bryan did. I've already arrange to return the unit to him to get a full refund. As far as I can tell, the unit will work with 2004-2006 Maximas according to the feedback provided by other customers on the site. If you are interested, I'll advise Bryan about the ORG and hopefully he can still setup a group buy for those of you interested. I'm dissapointed that this did not work out but I'm overly pleased with the support and attention to detail provided by Bryan. Sorry everyone.
