Has anyone thought about doing this?

Just recently I have been thinking of "molding" the rear stock spoiler into the trunk for a MUCH smoother look. I think it would look extremely clean and smooth.

The closest thing that I have seen to this is the C-class Benz

I know that the area where the emblem is may be a little tough, but with the right shop doing it, it may just turn out pretty nice IMO

discuss

I was thinking no more than $500.

I mean, it's just bondo, sanding, and paint. The materials aren't that expensive; you would mostly be paying for labor, so if you know someone, then that makes it that much better!

Actually I've handled bondo before and it's a possible $50 DIY project (besides paint). Sand prep the surface, apply bondo at the seams, wet sand to desired finish, take it to a body shop to paint.

2hrs of bondo/wet sand work max will make the seams go away.

I think I may look around for pricing and shops that would be willing to do this for a good price.

Stupid question, but how would the aerodynamics be effected?

It would make no difference probably since it's such a minor change. You may reduce turbulence by 0.01%!

That's equivalent to at least a few HP up top, isn't it?!

I've never been a big fan of molding parts to a car. I kinda like the lines in between the parts...

Note that you're also posting on a distinctly pro-mod website so I don't expect too many people to be on your side.

Just so you know that the C55 AMG rear trunk lip are not molded into the rear trunk. There are two different versions, the C55 AMG shown which is straight while another one which is included in the regular w203 models have a more curvy shape. I've ordered the one shown and should be receiving it soon.
