Try sealing it with silicone.

When you say seal it, where exactly do you seal? I am a little new at the headlight stuff so if someone could go into a little detail for me it would be great.

Thanks

I was talking about where the headlight comes apart from the reflectors, meaning the clear plastic to the rest of the headlight, I have had friends with this problem and they usually do that since sometimes the rubber seals form leaks, I cant promise u this is it, but from my experience if everything is stock. This usually is it.

Have you changed any bulbs or had the headlights modified in any way, bottom line you have a seal open somewhere that is letting air seep in and the result is a terrarium effect. The headlights have incandescent packs inside and yours may be spent, thus nothing inside the headlights to absorb the humidity. Any background on what has ever been done to your headlights which may help isolate your problem?

Well you can either go to home depot, and ask for silicone sealant, or go to a auto parts store and ask for the sealant, I have seen the home depot one in action but im sure the auto parts store would better suit the application.

I bought the lights off of ebay to do the conversion with the stock hid lamps. The drivers side is sealed but the passengers gets a bit of mist in there when I wash the car. I did change the bulbs and there is a chance that the seals may be open but you guys know how much of a it is to get those headlights out to take a closer look. Inevitable of course.

Why not just take it in to the dealer if your'e still under warranty. easiest and safest way to go IMO.

Oh, most definitely but with 69K on her she is unfortunately out of warranty. Thanks for the help so far, I'm confident I now have the knowledge to take care of this. But by all means, leave more if you want to.

I don't think anyone here has had a worse problem with headlight condensation then me,,, and it's not going to just go away it's only going to get worse,,, best bet is to go to the dealer and see what they can do,, or find someone who can open them and reseal them,,, also,,, i wouldnt recommend silicone,,,,my personal opinion,,, here are some pics, hopefully your problem doesn't get this point.....

Take them off (two bolts on top by radiator), and one bolt inside the passenger fender well. (Pull back the rubber/plastic inner wheel well, loosen TWO fender supporting screws, then undo the third bolt that holds the headlamp in. Disconnect the harnesses, then bring your headlights inside your house. Turn the over on to 350 (after disconnecting the ballasts and take bulbs out) Wrap headlamp in towel and keep in the over at 350 for 8-10 minutes. Then pry your headlight open (the clear lens cover) Little by little until you can get it off. DONT CRACK IT OBVIOUSLY!! LOL then scrape away the unwanted leftover silicone, and apply a half tube all the way around of AQUARIUM SEALER (Its silicone make sure you get enough sealer around the entire headlamp. After it dries, hold the lamp as if it was being put on the car and run under water to make sure you have no leaks into the headlamp. If you DO< redo until you dont!! The whole process takes about 2 hours to do, but its worth it. I had the same problem with the Ebays also same side this worked.

Yes he did an HID conversion if I remember correctly from his initial thread on the problem, he also have his light housings redone like mine with Halo's and painted by customligthz.com, however his condenstaion problem started after the HID conversion.

I have now seen a total of 5 rides with this problem, all had HID conversions...

350? I've heard 250 but never 350. Are you sure?

I opened my headlights by baking at 250 for 18 minutes. No condensation problems. Also, I think the sealant isnt regular silicone but something stronger.

Don't use silicone because most of the time it's pretty much permanent. If something else were to ever happen to your headlight then it will be a pain to take apart again. Go get the Nissan Sealer/Gasket from your local dealership. It's the sealant of choice recommended by plenty of HID retrofitters out there. Google it and you will see a bunch of threads about it. I used it when I did my retrofit on my Prelude. The part number is B6553-89915 and it's about $25 including tax here in Houston.

Hey SICK, do what Chern did. If you need to take one apart, you might as well go all the way and have the halos installed and have the housing painted white or black. $.02

Look, Some say try silicone some say don't, It worked for me. BUT if u did a hid conversion, my friend has a altima that he leased and therefore cant mod it much so he put in hid's and there is condensation that is resulting from the bulb not sitting properly in the housing meaning there is a gap.

Interesting question...I never found any for the 07-08's when I was interested in them. Only thing I could find are Halo fog lights for some odd reason.
