Is the paint heat repellent? I was thinking about this mod, but thinking that the color is as close to black as possible kind of discouraged me, BUT I hope you prove me wrong!

Oh ya, and how the hell do you hit 14.25 with just mufflers, CAI, and light-weight wheels?! Are you a track pro or have perfect track conditions every time or what? I'm most definitely not calling bs, but I'm just excited as all hell that there's a Max almost exactly like mine that can do times like that! I think that I should be right there with you if not a little quicker (at least for a couple of more days until you get the IMS ) since I have the same mods + an ECU flash

One day I will see at my local track!

Prjct: I talked to my paint body guy he said it will be fine.... he said that the Actual engine COVER itself is hard cause it get so hot... but he promised that it would be fine or he would give me my money back... i said hell lets do it...

As for yoru other question...i would conider myself a good track driver....

Stock our car 5at should run around a 14.8 or so give or take a -.01 +.01 Figure with cai u drop around .02 or .03 then mufflers .01 .02 MAX! add new tires and some suspesnion and BAM! 14.3 14.2 .... add a "Good driver" and nice weather and no Altitude factor!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and you are there

i have been doing it since i was 16 so almost 8 years... and yes the conditions were great... it was 55` ... no wiind... track is preety decent...

i hope to be running even faster now though because since that time i have added my suspension mod *H&R* springs... and also added new tires...

I will be adding "coolmax05" ' s Gr-2's VERY soon... and also the IMS... i hope to be able to hit a 13.9x that would be sick...

anyway... i will post new slips and maybe somde vids at the track next time i go...

22lbs!

Good luck with hitting high 13 with adding the IMS. The suspension won't help much; I mean our car isn't RWD and isn't producing gobs of power that we can pop wheelies all day long, which requires suspension work galore imo.

Tires and IMS should most definitely help it though!

Post some high 13 slips, so that I could be a ricer and show people what my car "could" do!

I used the Krylon Fusion (for plastic) spray paint on the 2 strut tower plastic pieces and still looks brand new 9 months later. Nice thing about the fusion, is any idiot like me can spray it on and it wont puddle up. It actually seems to be absorbed into the plastic. Also, no need for sanding.

That's the selling point of the Fusion paint. It's supposed to "bond" to plastic.

there is a lot of air that will be flowing around both of these plastic pieces.... so im 100 % sure it will be fine... the actual engine cover is theone that worries me ... but MANY ppl have it done : IE Ramberg... Chern... etc...
sooooo im sure all will be fine...

Its a great mod thts cheap and easy

Yeah, it doesn't look like there is anything close to liquid silver. For $80 you paid, I think that was a good deal. I think I might as well look for someone who will paint these together with the roof spoiler that's been sitting in the basement. Oh well, we'll see

Peace

The key is not only a paint that can handle the heat, but the preparation of the plastic surfaces to ensure the paint will adhere... Great job all...
