Struts to be or not to be, which ones for me?

Okay, so i replaced my 4th genereation with a 6th generation. I have a 04 SL and its sounds like I have an issue with the driverside front strut. (a little rattle over the bumbs) So what is a good way to to replace them and I wouldn't mind lowering it an inch or two?? (by the way I have the stock rims if that makes a difference)

There are as many threads as there are opinions about lowering. Do a little browsing or searching and you will be sure to find plenty. As far as replacing the struts, you can go OEM, KYB GR-2, or Koni adjustables by Activetuning.

The favored shocks are the KYB's and the favored springs, that I've seen anyway, are the Progress. There is a groupd deal on them right now!

Welcome to the 6th gen crew. Get some pics up of your new kiddo.

That strut knock is an issue with the 04's. Check with a stealership, it won't hurt if they replace it for you free of charge.

Biggest understatement I heard all Month!

If economics don't come into play, it is undebatable (KONI STRUTS) under any circumstances-ride quality + handling.

If bang for the buck is what you're after and handling is more important over ride quality then KYB GR2's.

If ride quality is of concern and you have bad roads then go with OEM struts.

Best bang for the buck combo...AGX Shocks + OEM Struts with Progress springs.

Best springs, Eibachs. Best springs for the money Progress. Lowest springs height wise Intrax.

Best riding springs but are not as low height wise...H&R's.

If you want the ultimate setup regardless of cost...Eibach springs + KYB AGX Shocks + Koni Struts. Period!
