Rotors FTW

Rotors FTW
Lots of talk lately here about new rotors.
I've seen quite a few on ebay. I'm wondering what all the differences are...are some rotors better than others, or is that all a matter of taste? Are they made of different materials, with different densities, or are they all basically the same, some just being "name brand"? Do I have to pay for "Nike's" if I can get the same shoe from Payless for 100 bucks less? I definitely want Zinc coating, but how long does it last where the brakes come into contact with the rotor?
I'm wondering also about the advantages of slotted/drilled rotors?
Advantages of Drilled Holes
* Maximum air circulation for increased cooling. (200-250 degrees cooler)
* Improved wet weather braking.
* Mill balanced to prevent vibration.
* Cooler brake pads.
* Promote longer rotor life.
Advantages of Slots
* Increased brake pad bite.
* Prevents glazing between brake pads and rotors,
* Shortens the braking distance.
* Releases any gases, brake dust, water, and heat.
Advantages Zinc Plating
* Military spec. plating silver for protection against rusting on hub, edge, and vents.
* Last longer then powder coating, clear coating, spray paint, or any other methods.
* Although the entire rotor is zinc plated, the zinc will only remain on the areas that do not come into contact with the brake pads.
* Better appearance
Took that from this ebay auction for rotors - are these just as good as any other aftermarket rotors? And if not...where can I find a cost-effective yet proven set of rotors?
Thank you all,
Joshua

i had powerslot rotors (only slotted) and hawk HPS pads on my 2k2..what an amazing set. My stock rotors were eaten alive...i tracked the car..did many stops from 100+ MPH and they never faded warped or anything. 1/4 mile track i really tested them since the track is so sticky..swear to god felt like the rear end was gonna come off the ground and no brake fade. Im about to put the same setup on my 2k4. just get pads for the rear..you dont need high performance discs for the rear..
